The game feel is strong with this one. The time mechanic was well-thought out. You really have to be strategic about placing your soldiers around the map. The 2D light made for a very immersive environment!

I liked the concept, but in practice, I had a hard time keeping track of what was happening. Perhaps some kind of nav marker or radar ping for when an enemy was detected, or at least where the fire was coming from. I felt like hitting the enemies was a little bit too hard for me. The heartbeat as timer ran down was a really thematic touch. The level design seemed a little haphazard as well, but it gave me the feeling that I was carefully picking my way through enemy territory. Impressive splash screen graphics for LD - was that an AI?
Hi @defrag! Thanks for the comment! We wanted to have very few information about the enemies position. You can still hear the sounds of the bullets/weapons and also see the bullets on the minimap. The level design was indeed hazardous, we rushed it in the end sadly... But hey still have each their own "theme". All the splashscreens are IA generated of course :) You can have a look here on their Discord : https://beta.pixelmind.ai/
Really cool idea, and curious what the other campaigns are. Really struggled to get any kills, I think my framerate was so low that collisions weren't quite working right with the fast projectiles. If you @ me later tonight I'll be able to download it and try again hopefully with better frames!
I really enjoyed it, feels like the type of game i would play for hours! Didn't like that i could change the order of the soldiers at first, but after some tries it got really fun! Would love to play more of this, nice work and a great entry!
Hi @croze and @brunozisman! Thanks to both of you for taking the time to play our game! The different level are unlocked when you win the previous level. We will probably release a 'non jam' entry that will fix some bugs, improve the framerate and the overall experience.
I think this is a pretty fun game I could get behind. If you decide to spend more time working on it I think an alert system would be useful for players so they know if they are approaching victory or defeat. Every time I played I would either win or lose not knowing exactly why. The gameplay was still very fun and added an extra sense of urgency with the 10 second player switcher. Thanks for the fun time!
Totally agree with c4ris. The idea is good, the 10 seconds are too hard to follow. This game need to be developp outside of this jam because the fun is here. Thanks
Very intressting concept. The 10 seconds seem to quick though to truly apply strategy. And for some reason in one level i played one guy was able to shot me from so far away that i couldn't even see him and finished my entire squad... But still very fun to play. Polish it some more und you mighthave something here. Well done.
That was fun! I didn't like the whole war framing, but that's just personal preference. Overall, I was captivated by the game within the first few seconds. And oh boy, the timer and ticking and restricted vision really good some excitement started.
Very fun game. I guess the correct way to play is to arrange the formation to gradually advance, when I noticed that the soldiers would automatically fire at the enemy they were facing.
The bullets are very inaccurate, I guess on purpose. There is a lot of pressure when the switch comes but the enemy is still engaging you.
Overall well done
Got really strong Foxhole vibes form this application! Great game! Cool that from the sounds of the shots you can distinguish direction of the enemy
This game is excellent ! Godo pace and the game mechanic is super original ! Keep improving it with good graphics, it got potential !
cool game. espesially for such short amount of time. gameplay is really nice and creative theme usage
I came to comment that your people should shoot when you aren't playing them, but it seems I was just experiencing a glith, where mine wouldn't shoot .
cool idea for a game, and I think it could easily be fleshed out more to be a masterpiece
Fun game. Reminded me of Hotline Miami. Very ambitious and expansive, but less quantity and more quality would have benefited a lot. The enemies seem to be able to shoot from farther than player can see. Accuracy felt a bit to random. A few small nitpicks: walls in holes, allies in 3rd level could have been a different color (especially on the minimap). The unit swiching mechanic is well done, unit portriats are a nice addition. Light/Visibility mechanic worked really well. Game has a lot potencial.
Overall excellent work.
