Looks very nice! But even with the brief tutorial I couldn't figure out what to do.

Damn those visuals are intense! I'm pretty bad at rhythm and mouse accuracy, but I did manage one perfect kill and it was really satisfying.

EDIT: Ack, then my finger slipped on the next fight and I died. :(

I think this is an interesting idea but like the other commenter I wasn't able to actually attack. I read the instructions and saw the gif on the page. It seems like a targeting circle is supposed to appear when I click and hold the left button but this didn't work for me. I tried clicking and holding at different stages and keeping my cursor over the enemy's heart but after about 10 deaths without understanding what I was doing wrong I threw in the towel. It definitely looks stylish and I think the idea of using chess movement to predict enemy positions for an action combat game has real potential. I'd love to see an update on this in the future that makes it a bit easier to understand how to play. Good job completing the jam!

Hey, this game has an incredible mood! :crossed_swords: I was a bit confused why it shows an option to rate for "Humor" but not "Mood" (was it a mistake? English is not my native language so it might be a mistake on my end, too.)

I've played for some time, wasn't able to unlock the king though  kept getting "good" scores all the time haha.

Here are my thoughts: - I really like the atmosphere and the kill cam. It's very, very stylish. - Adding the chess moves to the mechanics was a super nice touch :) - I've had some issues regarding input feedback. Sometimes I wasn't sure when to start holding the mouse button, or when to let it go. I kinda got the hang of it after some time but never managed to get a "perfect" score. And sometimes I wouldn't know whether I missed the heart or was just too slow to click. - Once I learned the ropes, the game was very fun. Holding the mouse button and focusing on the perfect time to click (and at the exact right spot) had me on edge at all times.

Congrats on the entry!

Such a cool idea! I absolutely loved the idea of predicting the next move based on the chess piece. The visuals were great, the audio was great, and it was so satisfying landing a kill. Amazing job!

Took me a while to properly understand the game, even after beating the tutorial! The timing seems very tight, and a bit unintuitive (if I got it correctly, the release must be on the moment the ennemy steps on the tile, not after?). But mostly the game could use some more feedback: most of the time I didn't know when I failed if it was because I was too early, too late, or because I missed the target. I just failed without learning my mistake.

That being said, I still enjoyed the concept! Enough to get to the final boss (but I couldn't beat it, having to do all the fights again in a single row is rough). It's a pretty cool anticipation and rhythm mechanic. Again, with more indications on the timing and the targeting, it could give something really cool. Plus, I must mention that the visual and sound design are incredible! You did a really good job overall.

Really polished game! Sadly it felt bit laggy, but I still liked it. And the kill cam is really well made. Also I liked your art style, it is really cool

Got it very fast. Adore chess, survived through them. Very cool idea and implementation! Though, timing could be easier. But that's very stylish logic hardcore.

Thanks everyone for testing our game !

@daniel-foutz @quill18 @itooh Thank you for your feedbacks, we have fixed some mouse issue, the game should be easier to master.

@itooh Agree, we should have added more feedbacks, it's hard to understand why the shot is not perfect. But you know, jam is really fast

@conradoclark Thank you for notice us our mistake, you're right, it's "Mood" not "Humor". I guess I have miss click  . Rate options are now fixed.

Thanks for playing and supporting us!

Very cool idea and style. In my opinion, it was worth smoothing out the effects and models a little, but this is subjective. In theory, gameplay can be developed beyond the chessboard. You can place several opponents on the field, as well as add lives. I wish you good luck in further development of this and other projects.

Great game! Real nice change up on a known game. Animations and graphics are very well done, especially with "bullet time" kicking in. Nicely polished and fun to play. Keep on making them like this!

The game feel, art, and concept is awesome. I really like it. My only problem is that there have been many times where the enemy is on the red square, my mouse is over the heart, and I lose. I either get perfect or I lose. Not really sure where the boundaries lie or why I'm losing so much. Fun idea though.

Game is great, the graphics, audio and movement bring the mood together. A faster way retry would be perfect.

I really love the visuals and audio in this game. It's also really hard. The cool camera movements, splatters and the general style of the game. Very impressive.

For the game mechanics, it was a bit confusing at start. One main thing was that I couldn't focus in on the target (click-hold) as soon as the enemy drops into the game. Maybe there should be a visual / auditory signal for when the round actually starts. Then it wasn't really clear to me if there was any benefit to holding for a long time or just clicking when the piece hits the red square. Except that it was more cool to be focused. Then finally it also took me a few fails to understand that I also had to release on the red square way before it moved off it. So something visually and/or auditory to help clarify this moment would have been helpful.

Perhaps the camera could also in the focus mode follow the piece a bit because when it got to the closest corner it was almost out of view, or the on the very edge.

Great entry all in all though!
