Sadly couldn't figure out how to play. Tried left mouse button for placing blocks, but to no effect.
Music is nice though!

Im not sure what to do?
I found it a bit difficult to start playing, I found you had to zoom out first and then when you clicked it started spawning things, but on a second play it didn't let me spawn anything, not sure what i was doing wrong.

Not sure if the game is broken, but I don't see any blocks at the top. I tried to zoom out using the scroll wheel and I just see blue and white.

I always go fullscreen so I was able to see what was going on right away. It seems the game may have benefited from a simple menu at the beginning that outlined how the game worked. I realized that the block sizes change, but I didn't realize the next block coming up is properly displayed in the UI which is a nice mechanic so you can plan how to stack. The controls to move the camera were also a bit clunky. WASD to move and right-click hold to rotate the camera may have worked more intuitively.
Unfortunately it doesn't work. :(
Even at full screen, I was unable to play the game. It kept zooming back in and I was unable to see anything.:\
It does look like it could have been fun though.
I see where you were getting at with this game when you were making it. I like how the different color boxes changes the moment you place a block down. It gives that extra challenge of working with what you have. After a few rounds I decided to just spam the red block and I eventually got a high score of 60! I would argue having the blocks not move too much after falling would be a good idea but the way the blocks land definitely support this game jam's theme.
There are a few things I found strange in this game (like the way the camera starts at the beginning of the game and how the game simply resets once time is over) but the game works as intended when you go into full screen.
I congratulate you on a game well done!
nice idea but pretty scuffed
You got one more rating.
The game mechanics are solid. And the graphic and music are nicely done. The short description, if not in game, then here on LD page would be really helpful. From my first experience and from other people comments it is easy to notice, that players feels lost without any instructions. I would also like to see more variety in shapes, like L-shape, some Z-shape or maybe plus-shape. Anyway, good job with the game!
My highscore is 90.55 :) I agree with the others saying that the controls are a bit odd. A short description and a screenshot would have helped as well - I didn't go to fullscreen immediately and really did not understand what was happening and that I am missing part of the GUI. A bug I noticed: the game resets, even if the timer hasn't run out yet. Anyway, theme is spot on!
I think you really need to add some instructions (either in-game or here in the game description). It took me a good deal of time to understand how to play and what I was supposed to do.
Once I figured it out, it wasn't bad! Vibes of "Jenga: Creative Mode"
Visual and the music are good. I think some sound effects would have been a nice addition to create some mood. My main criticism, though is: it felt too much like I was depending on luck. I know it all depends on where exactly I click, but since I don't have much feedback until after I click and see where the block is falling _and_ small differences on the point I click make a big difference, the game felt a bit random to me.
I think that if you can find a way to make the player feel like he's more in control of the situation, you could turn this game into a pretty nice casual game.
This seems to be your first Ludum Dare, right? Congrats on finishing your game (that's always an achievement!) and hope to see you again on the next one!
@lmb wow thanks for all the feedback, I agree that I should have added instructions. I pretty much ran out of time to add it, and also to add smaller things like the sfx. Up until now I've also had a very annoying bug where I can't type in the text box, so i couldn't even add it in the game description. i will most definitely be participating in the next ludum dare, it was an awesome experience
@jeinzi my high score is 99 :)
The game was a bit confusing to get into, but I assume the goal was to build as tall a tower as possible. The camera never really moved for me, so it was hard to stack the blocks up, but I managed to get a score of about 50. The concept wasn't bad, but the execution could use some polishing! Keep working on the game and I'm sure the product will come out well; it looks appealing and the soundtrack has some good potential!
Cool managed to get 90 score
