LD49 — Unstable

YuraYura! - Tidying up the tilting tower! by Cornflowerblue 2021-10-12T23:51:33Z

I went in thinking this game was gonna be easy and that I'd clear all of the levels in 15 minutes.

I was wrong. I was so, so far from the truth. This game is extremely challenging.

This game is exactly what I imagine when thinking of this jam's theme 'Unstable'. Having to defend your platform is a brilliant decision and I love the variety in stages which introduces you to new obstacles that may impede in your goal. A lot of my wins were clutch wins and I can't imagine how long I'll be playing to 100% completion.

For a game made within 3 days, you did a darn good job in every single category! This is definitely a game I will be keeping on my desktop to play from time to time :)

The game is actually pretty simple once you understand when to buy the stats. You start off grinding in the cave for some money and slowly buy into the crypto market. I had the most devilish grin once I remembered that you can sell those same buffs and gain massive stacks! By the end of the game, I was killing all of those goblins on screen within a matter of seconds.

I'm pretty amazed with how much you were able to get done within just 3 days for this game: The sounds are pretty clean, you managed to make 3 different levels, and you got the whole system working like the actual cryptocurrency market (always crashing lol).

I was playing the linux build for this review and what a splendid time I had. I hope you continue with this idea post-jam!

To the moon!

Cross Over by Ryan Lambe 2021-10-12T23:21:33Z

This game is very creative. I am a big of the later levels ESPECIALLY #6. This game makes you think of creative ways to get to the goal with limited shapes. At first I thought the collisions were weird but as I got to the later levels, I understood why.

I'm not a fan of the same piano notes playing over and over again but that's a minimal issue-- I'm more interested in the art and how fun the game is to play (I'm proud to say that you succeeded in both!).

Genuinely a good game that more people should try out!

Volatile Witchcraft by Tomssuli 2021-10-11T15:32:24Z

Fun game! You can easily get stuck with some of the platforms falling but it's not a big issue. The best approach I found is by getting to the witches as fast as possible before too many blocks fall.

Art style is very cute and the music is very good! My game did crash once but that's because I was playing on linux. Other than that one time, the game ran as intended!

Good work on your entry it was a ton of fun :p

I really like the visuals in this game! I would like there to be a bit more of a view because it's pretty dark to see enemies or balls near you. Not sure if it was just me but I am not sure if the shoot button works (it probably is but I'm able to check). Regardless, the movement is lots of fun and it feels really great getting that score up!

I'd say you made one fun game this jam congratulations!

Maintenance by Maxthedoom 2021-10-11T15:06:19Z

It's a pretty simple yet fun game! Having to worry about starving to death adds to the worry of having enough time to do maintenance on the computers and ordering new fans and PSUs. I would say that the art is lacking but it gets the job done. I am very thankful you included visuals to the errors so that I can save time by grabbing the right parts. Great work!

Unstabled: Zues' Revenge by Scott Cooper 2021-10-12T22:43:59Z

I think it's really cool that you made a 3d game and that you have it playable for the web! I appreciate that the enemies have health above their heads but I do wish they were easier to hit since a lot of my attacks never hit them even though they clearly were. I found spamming the lightning to be a good solution but I know that's probably not what you attended for your game.

It's a short, simple game and I think it's pretty alright! Nice work!

Juicy Cauldron by nightlight00 2021-10-11T19:50:46Z

Very fun game that is pretty unforgiving as you move to the next levels. I found a lot of challenge in avoiding the juices as they're spilling and the bullets are too small and light to notice. There's really no control over avoiding other objects in the way of the fruit you need to get into the cauldron but it wasn't too much of a hindrance. I do love the various levels in the game and an endless mode option--it really is a game that you can play nonstop for a high score :p

Good work making a game around this jam's theme!

Paper Work by elbowGeese 2021-10-12T23:11:20Z

I really love this entry!! The art is very cute and simple, the music is charming, and the gameplay is very addicting! I also really love the small details done to the other co-workers even though you're only seeing the back of their heads during the game.

My only gripe with this game is that I cannot connect it to this jam's 'Unstable' theme completely but otherwise I'd rate it 5/5 in every other category!

Thanks to this game, I'm now a paper airplane pro :D A job well done!

Block Balance 3D by thatdevhuddy 2021-10-12T22:55:54Z

I see where you were getting at with this game when you were making it. I like how the different color boxes changes the moment you place a block down. It gives that extra challenge of working with what you have. After a few rounds I decided to just spam the red block and I eventually got a high score of 60! I would argue having the blocks not move too much after falling would be a good idea but the way the blocks land definitely support this game jam's theme.

There are a few things I found strange in this game (like the way the camera starts at the beginning of the game and how the game simply resets once time is over) but the game works as intended when you go into full screen.

I congratulate you on a game well done!
