Hah this was a funny little game. I enjoyed it. I don't really have a whole lot to add here. The game kind of just speaks for itself.

I had a lot of fun trying to improve my score, experimenting with different strategies. (My record: 3231. I found it useful to upgrade cash first; somewhere in the 2000-3000 point range things run away from me and I don't know how to get past it.) I enjoyed the quirky style of the gameplay and the object descriptions. The graphics are kind of inelegant.

I really enjoyed this game. I would have liked a bit more time in the beginning for some kind of investment phase. I spent most of my time chasing down fires and holes without any time to even collect money. Maybe I was just doing it wrong.

I think the balance is off, as the other commentors said (it seems like you either get a bunch of money while you're safe at the beginning, or spend the whole rest of the game putting out fires without a chance to again) but I appreciated this game a lot! It felt like a one-party FTL. There wasn't really time to do everything, which was fine for a jam game, but I would have been interested in seeing more ability to maneuver and manage it as one player somehow.

nice job in the setup but I guess the UI can be improved to some extent

good concept for the theme! everything is going to be more unstable.

although it's a bit hard to remember what to do in the first place.

Thank you all for feedback. I am definetly sure the balance is a failure :D I designed it so one session won't take that long (up to 4-6 minutes max). But balancing that was a nightmare. I just, plainly said, underestimated the time needed for balancing the game and left it as one of the last segments. But this gives me experience and next time i can divide the workload more responsibly and carefully. Again! Thank you all for feedback! I much appreciate it.

As someone who likes doing the among us mini games this was quite fun. Introducing all systems one after the other might have helped better than the one page tutorial.

Overall, a great compo entry. A suggestion for the future: consider introducing each new mechanic one by one, instead of dumping the entirety of the information at the very start. The art was a bit generic, feels rushed but overall it was okay. The music and sound effects were fine but nothing special. In the end, this was a great submission, especially for your first one!

Nice game! Ended up playing until 1156! Quite fun to figure out the best strategy.

the game is a bit complex to understand the first time. a simpler level with less systems to manage will be great to learn the game. I'm really terrible managing different things at the same time. I never remember what element interact with the other

great entry

cedric86 2021-10-14 16:46

Very good entry here. Very fun to play. At first i had trouble remembering everything i had to do but with time i got better and and the game got more enjoyable. Well done! Keep it up.

Bad:

Formatting - Tutorial overlay isn't consistent with spacing and capitalization.

Subsystems - Learning curve is **huge** due to many subsystems.

Good:

Artwork - The objects themselves and their icons in the tutorial overlay look primitive, but considering this is LD Compo submission and there's a diversity of images/icons, it's amazing!

Subsystems / Features - It seemed like content from a weeklong jam due to how many there were. For an LD Compo sub I am very impressed!

Audio - I like it.

Input Mappings - One of the two biggest no-no's in game dev is to not include a way to quit the game besides ctrl+shift+esc; Not only does this game include a way to quit, all action mapped buttons are in close proximity (Q and E to interact). Plus H brings up tutorial page with what to do. It was well designed and proper input mapping always increases the games playability.

Neutral or Not Scored ()

Just curious... why wasn't the core stabilized before departure if it's so critical?? XD

UI - Options at top right should be more visible.

I'm not familiar with GL and web based games so I would think that pressing ESC would load main menu, not freeze and have to refresh the webpage.

Overall:

The graphics are very basic and the gameplay logic is very complex. But the fact is it all comes together... at least enough to suck me in for quite a while. I truly enjoyed playing this game... and the fact that it's a compo submission makes me like it way more! My favorite so far, good work!
