I like the idea, but the instructions/controls are way too unclear. The first few times I was just trying to make something happen.

Ya, it's a very rough game without any sort of tutorial sadly the game didn't turn out as planed, but that's the nature of the jam. Hopefully the game was at least able to a bit of fun :D

Not sure what I'm supposed to do but it seemed like it could be a good game... much more explanation needed :)

An interesting game that I admit I really struggled to understand, maybe you can update the description to explain the controls to make it easier for others to play :)

It can be a good game, but I can't holding my mouse on select the character and do a large amount of commands.I like this idea but the design of how to play is not well.

It is very difficult to use both of the start charackters. Maybe it would be easier to select one char and than simple click on the ground to dig or click on a stone to make it a stoneball. But I can't figure out what do to with these stoneballs. I know what you mean, I sucked with the savegame and lost a full day for a feature maybe noone will need. But as you say: that’s the nature of the jam

I feel like this concept has so much potential. An RTS about mining, from a side-on perspective? That's a really cool idea.

However, the lack of a tutorial really hurts it. My first couple of attempts, I could only give each guy one command, and it was micro-management hell. Once I realised you can click and drag, I tried again. I then found that you could do that for horizontal tunnels, but not vertical ones, which are what you mainly want. I kept going with one guy, and eventually realised that if the tunnel is two blocks wide, he can dig vertically. I reached the flag with the last guy.

I really hope you keep improving this after the jam. The world needs more strange worker management games!

Sorry about that everyone, I finally found time to add controls into the page.

@divford Ya, I really like the idea behind the game, but getting the pathfinding to work properly was a little bit of a nightmare XD. This thing alone took most of my time. I'll deffinity think about making the game in the future, but if I do I'm probably going to start over from scratch the code in this is so spaghetti that by the time I was finishing with the jam changing any minor thing would break everything :'(

You could add some enemies to caves below. For these 3 days i love progress you made.

I really like the vision, would have loved to see it with a bit more work put into it! Maybe some additional things you can craft and an increasing difficulty / addition of new mechanics throughout the run. But very unique. Congrats!

The interface really made it awkward to play, dig markers would disappear for no apparent reason, and it was hard to see which characters were selected or which tool was selected. Also sometimes the selection box would not even work. I even saw them fly up to the top of my sheer mineshaft for some reason at one point. That was quite random.

The mushroom incursion was a cool idea and was well done. I never figured out how to acquire resources, but I did get the two characters to the flag at the end. I think the game would have worked better without the autoscrolling.

This is probably the most similar game to mine I have seen so far.

I like the concept you have for this game but the controls were just too confusing to fully enjoy what you have going on here. Also, this game could use some music and sound effects to keep the player engrossed. Maybe implement an "x" to show where you intend to send the yeti guy but aren't allowed to reach due to it being too high or out of reach to increase the playability.

Great job on this game

Solid idea, somewhat buggy.

sestren 2021-05-12 12:09

Once I figured out that you could drag-select an entire area to mine, the controls became a lot simpler. I still couldn't figure out what the Yeti item did, though I did place down a set of legs, once, maybe? I made it to the flag, and got a score of 2!
