nice graphics
this game has a lot going for it as a party game. the graphics are cool and the sound really fits, especially the music. there are some camera issues but its manageable. nicely done!
nice game
wow, this was pretty slick. I love the character, and graphics are pretty good. The whole feel is bright and nice. Sound and music are pretty good.
I feel like the level is too snakey, and mazey. I suppose that's because you're going for more of a race. But what happens if I finish last and get all the gems? I think you might need to add a time component for the race, or drop the race and do a first to X gems, with a larger square room instead of the raceway.
The game soundtrack is sick, and I'm digging how nice the characters look.
cool game, the art style using 3D and 2D and the colors looks so nice, my only problem is probably the camera is a bit annoying how it works but its not a big problem
I love the art style in this game, it is very cute and satisfying to play around in. I was however confused with the objective of the game, the jems dont seem to do much even after getting 400+ and staying away from other players dosent seem to have any rewards.
I really liked the art style also really cool idea not like the thousand of deep sea and mine shaft games. Good Job!
I always joke about making an MMO for a jam but you guys actually did it - and it works well! That's awesome :B
Very good game, for some reason it reminded me of Fall guys which is a game that I really enjoy! Good Job!
The art style is really lovely. It's amazing that you made a online game! Unfortunately I can't seem to get the game to launch on my computer. It just freezes after the initial unity logo :( As a result, I have only rated the graphics and audio categories that I can judge from the video. Please tell me if this is ever fixed. I really wanted to try this!
hey @toasteater , sorry you're encountering such a limiting bug! inside the folder for the game there's a README that gives some instructions on prerequisites to install if you're getting crashes. your particular crash seems different than those that players had been able to fix by installing them, but maybe it's worth a shot? downloading the game directly through Itch.io's client (rather than their website) will also prompt an installation of these prereqs, so accessing our game through there may also help.
thanks for checking it out in the first place and for rating what you could! let me know if this doesn't fix your issue and I'll try to figure it out over the weekend
Ohhh I just so love the voxel visual style and the isometric view point! The level design was really neat too. I didn't have a controller handy when I played--it would have been nice to see the control scheme for keyboard + mouse. (Took me a bit to figure out how to rotate the camera).
This was really cute and fun!
@duplicatedframe I have Visual Studio on my machine already so I don't think I'm missing the redist, but I tried installing it individually and it didn't do anything, unfortunately. The process doesn't seem to be using any CPU, so it might be blocking on some operation on the main thread, I think? Is there anything you do on startup that can lead to that?
Thanks for looking into this @toasteater. Would you mind looking in your [C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\LocalLow\StretchyBuoys\Stretch B4U Race] folder for the file Player.txt? That's where Unity outputs logs on a build and it might give us more information as to what's happening
This was a fun game. I had no one to play it with but other than that, the concept was cool. The camera also wouldn't rotate so I couldn't see myself some of the time. Overall, super impressive that you made a multiplayer game for a game jam!
I like your sounds and music you have for it. Very good.
I feel like this could be a really fun game, but when I joined there wasn't anyone else playing.
I also question the decision to make every action on one button. I just ran around for a while trying to get a feel of the game and I frequently had trouble getting it to jump when I wanted to. Additionally the jump height is very unpredictable. Maybe there is some level of skill to it I don't understand.
The camera was also kind of a problem here. I would argue that it might be better to just layout levels with a fixed camera so players never have to mess with it at all. This is probably subjective though.
Ultimately I like the idea. I actually think there s a lot of potential here. A highly polished and responsive character controller would have me playing this again.
