Very nice art style. but I got stuck in the mines a lot. I suggest adding some more starting ladders and making them cheaper in the shop. overall good game!

Very nice game! Your really good at pixel art, and I also liked the SFX.
@parsafari thanks for the feedback! I agree, ideally I would have liked some more time for balancing and polish. :)
Cool game! A few notes:
* it would be cool if there was some kind of warning when running low in energy * the gravity is a bit "lunatic", also the charecter slides a lot
Great work! Simple but fun mechanics and lovely art. It was quite frustrating getting stuck in the mine without any ladders, though
Good job. Very nice sound effects and art.
Good effort in your first compo game! Congrats! The game loop is a nice little minigame around the theme, I found that if you empty your energy the next generations are empty of ores, but is a small bug if you play around it
@ccglp how do you mean? If the player runs out of energy, he "faints" and gets teleported back to the top, losing all ores collected but he gets to keep the money.
This is also mentioned in the tutorial :smile:
@loustak Thanks!
I meant to add some kind of indication and also improve character feel, but those were parts of the polish I unfortunately did not have time for. :confused:
@kieron-woodhouse Thanks for trying it out! Yes I realize is a bit of an issue.. Any ideas for how to improve this? :sweat_smile:
@erk How about a mechanic where you can always get home safely, like a 'Recover' button where someone comes and helps you back to the surface? If you want to penalise players for using it, you could have it take away some fraction of the ore they have on them. That way you're still incentivised to build a system of ladders but you won't get stuck in your mine!
@kieron-woodhouse sounds like s great idea. Thanks for the suggestion!
The game exiting whenever I press escape is a game-breaker for me, I keep pressing Escape to dismiss menus - and they do go away! And then a second later the whole game goes away -_-
Well, I managed to play a bit without hitting escape, but I kept getting stuck - even when I built a nice, path to get back to the surface, when I came back up, there was dirt where the path used to be! Not sure if that was a bug or intentional, but seemed weird. The new dirt was super-quick to dig (went away after a split second), but I couldn't dig up and diagonally, so got stuck -_-. Seems like maybe a chunk getting partially unloaded or something... Happened again in my second game - second game had *way* more ore, like literally 50 times as much (I'd only seen one piece while digging down in my first game), but then eventually when I went to surface, I was stuck again :(.
Was fun while I could play it though, and I even managed to buy a couple upgrades!
Fun mining game. Not sure if it is a common occurrence but I got stuck while the upperpart of the mine got filled up and my ladders got stuck in it.
@jimbly @hpa97 seems like there must be some issues with with the chunk loading... Thanks for the heads up, I'll take a look at what might be causing the issue :smile:
@erk No problem, good luck!
I had the issuse, that no mineras appered. No matter how deep I digged into the ground, I found nothing.
@majadroid I see, thanks for the heads up. Was there any difference if you restarted the game?
I also did not see any minerals on my first play, it was really confusing at first. After restarting the game, though, they appeared. I also had the glitch of chunks seeming to reload with holes filled, and over ladders.
Otherwise pretty fun game.
Edit: Also, you need to rate more games! Giving around 20 ratings is recommended so that you make it to 20 ratings yourself.
