Very original concept, really fun. Maybe make it a little harder but thats all, good job :)
The art is very simple but effective. I really enjoyed the rotation concept which gives older people the ability to comprehend what just happened. :) Overall this was a very original fun game!
Hey @1punnyguy44 , I have to say, I very much enjoy this game actually. A simple gimmick, let's go through the positives: 1) Ample difficulty at brisk pace. Unlike other games like Crypt of the Necrodancer, when enemies only 'move when you move', you get to take your time and absorb everything happening before making your next move - making it akin to action/strategy kind of genre. I do like it, and I think you executed it adequately well.
2) Good replayability potential. While I did not play the multiple characters available, I can see this having good potential in that regard. In the little time we have, its impressive you made do with that!
3) Honestly: amazing artstyle. It's cohesive, works well together, and you have a good hand at pixel art - knowing to limit yourself to small palettes really brings out the aesthetics of your game. I have much to learn from you.
Other things I think could do more good:
1) The music feels off occasionally. The tone doesn't sit well with me, could be subjective but I feel like I'd make that point.
2) Game does not feel as smooth/responsive/nice(?) to play is the best way I can desscribe it. While the game design is fine on its own, the moment-to-moment feel is a bit off here.
Nevertheless, I think this game did well - and as such, deserved such a fitting rating as well.
@steventus Thanks for the great feedback! I 100% agree with all the critisisms. I was offline when finishing the game so I just had to use the only music I had which didn't fit the game very well. as far as juice and game feel goes I just ran outta time. thanks for playing :)
Such a creative entry! I love the mechanic, it's so simple, yet effective. You even had time to implement multiple classes in the game, that's pretty amazing! Some feedback: I definitely think you could get away with making all the enemies a 1-hit-kill. The enemies with multiple lives feel a bit dragged out, and end up making you go back and forth near them. You could turn this into more of a puzzle style game and it'd be really cool. Good job!
I really like the main mechanic.
Some criticisms: Its too easy to run out of health, and since its persistent it can feel unfair to me. The enemies with multiple hit points feel annoying to me. The order of the levels doesnt reflect there difficulty
Overall good job, barbarian OP
Cool game overall. The vibe of the game was great and the core mechanic was interesting. A couple critiques: -I found it weird that there was a slight delay after your movement for when the enemies and everything else moved. I feel like it should just happen all at the same time. -The hitboxes felt inconsistent when trying to attack at an angle. -I didn't see a reason why the projectile enemies needed multiple hits to kill. Just made the game feel more tedious.
Cool concept for a game though. Can definitely see potential for something post jam.
Hey squishy, thanks for submitting your game to the stream, I'm glad I got to play it! here's the vod if you wanna rewatch; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/765804766
Very fun game!
Really nice game ! The mechanic was original and quite fun, and I got the grasp of it really quickly ! I don't really blame the game for the damage taken, but it's true that sometimes you feel like you *have* to take some damage.
Great idea, there's some real potential here. I'd change the projectile sprite, right now it's quite unclear where they're headed since they're circles. Good job !
Cool game! The core mechanic is simple, but also has enough depth to have kept me hooked for a solid 15 minutes. One minor criticism I have is that the player character swords obscure enemy projectiles. Of course, due to the sequenced nature of projectile behavior you can at anytime predict what position projectiles will be on the next tick (or determine where they are currently, based on their position on the previous tick) but I don't see any issues with rendering enemy projectiles above the player instead of beneath it as a quality of life improvement.
I love their lil hats!
Really enjoyed this one. I like games a lot that you can move at your own pace. I defiantly liked playing rogue the most.
I love it! Very thoughtful, challenging mechanic. Some really solid character animation and decent music too. Only thing I would like to see is a little more progression in difficulty. Would definitely play a larger game built out of this.
Very clever use of the theme! Looks and sounds great too, and the fact that you got three classes in there for a jam is amazing. Very impressed by this. 🤩
thanks everyone that helped me get up to 20 so fast! and thanks especially for all the great feedback it means a lot
I love it! Very original and fun concept. The music is awesome. Also i love that every character have a little difference in gameplay.
