kind of confused about what the idea behind the game was and found myself getting stuck every once and awhile. Your models for the character was really cool though! Also I think the game was very innovative!

I think you have an interesting idea here, but your keybindings make it a little difficult to grok. The level design is fun, but the physics is rough- Making the button a physical object led to about 2 minutes of me pushing the box back and forth by increments, only to have it overshoot again, but not in a fun way. The music is really fun, but I felt some SFX design could have differentiated your platforms from each other. Also, some in game text tutorials or more thought out controls would have benefited you greatly.

The music is good, And I don’t know how to cancel the placed platform.

:/ I couldn't figure out how to get out of the first room. I can't jump high enough to get to the block. I can't seem to get the shift+space thing to happen either. Not sure what to do!

Hi - nice game! It reminds me of portal somehow. The player graphic is great.

Suggestions: - The controls are a bit strange - Sometimes the physics of the blocks changes when you reset - Some more background decorations to help give the levels more character

Good job!

@johnwayyyne Thanks! Yeah, we should probably have added a bit of tutorial text, but we ran out of time for it. Definitely going to include that if we push a post-jam build.

@iron-leonem Thanks for the feedback! All valid points. We've since discussed how we might go about tweaking the controls, but obviously that'd have to be in a post-jam build. SFX were a little lacking indeed, but that came down to time, unfortunately. We had the assets but didn't have the time to get them in-game. Physics is a whole other can of worms, but I think a lot of the button issues had to do with the colliders needing some love. Thanks for playing!

@dyguests Not sure if you played this before or after the controls list went up, but holding Shift + R for a few seconds should clear your platforms.

@ukulelefury Hm, interesting - I haven't seen that issue before, but I don't doubt it. Maybe it's a framerate-dependence bug? Either way, platform placement (shift + space) is unlocked after you get past the first door so that block needs to come down. Definitely something to investigate if we make a post-jam version.

@pleb2 Hey, thanks for the Portal call-out! I got that vibe a bit myself once I saw some of the finished levels come together. Definitely all good notes, too - we'll keep those in mind if we revisit this.

I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection

Love the main character, really cute!

samdemaine 2020-10-07 22:37

Hey nice job! I like the graphics and controls are nice! could you check out my game? :D

amin-jk000 2020-10-09 09:16

everything was great but I think the physics on cubes were a bit strange and I couldn't move the cubes. great job :v:

usenrame 2020-10-11 11:16

Very good graphics, very good character and really awesome music!

100th-coin 2020-10-14 05:16

I like the mood! The environment feels like a spooky research facility, and I think you did a great job on the puzzles! Great work.

vphyre 2020-10-15 20:07

Very interesting the mechanics related to the theme that you elaborated. I liked the graphics and the music too. The atmosphere of the game gives you the feeling of having to be thinking at all times to be able to solve the puzzle. I just found the controls a little confusing, mainly to understand everything I could do by holding the shift. But it was a very rewarding experience anyway. Congratulations.

edit: I made a mistake when typing. Please, I'm sorry about that. When I said, "... I could do by holding the shit ...", there was a missing "F" in the word shift (I wanted to write shift and not shit hahah). I noticed this when rereading my comment now. I don't know if you noticed that I was rude, but it definitely wasn't my intention. I'm really sorry, my friend. :)

@valkija Hey, thanks! Sammy certainly stole our hearts throughout development.

@amin-jk000 Thanks - and yeah, the physics need some work, unfortunately. Trusting the Unity physics system can have... mixed results.

@usenrame Thanks!

@100th-coin Good to hear it! And thanks - the puzzle design was really fun for us this time around.

@vphyre Glad to hear the controls weren't *too* off-putting. Using one key for everything sounds good on paper, but I think we've learned that it needs a lot of teaching in-game to feel natural. Thanks for playing!

pedrocoden 2020-10-20 14:47

Nice game!

nickzouk 2020-10-25 23:54

Very nice game

ava-skoog 2020-10-26 18:08

Aww, looks so cute but I seem to be unable to place platforms on Mac? ☹️ Tried both shift keys. Unless I'm not actually able to place platforms at the beginning and am just too thick to get past the very first puzzle? 😅

morrilet 2020-10-27 23:03

@pedrocoden / @nickzouk Thanks!

@ava-skoog Yep - you guessed it! You gain the ability to place platforms after you get through the first doorway. I have heard reports that people are unable to get the box at the top of that room, though, and I think that's a framerate / physics issue. Unfortunately we don't have a fix lined up for that just yet. Thanks for playing, though!
