Intresting Concept. The mood is good, but would have been absolutely amazing with rain ambience.
Fun base-building game! It was really hard to figure out how to get going, but once you figure it out, and push through that early part, you can really start to build.
A small nitpick: The unit description text on web browser, in Firefox, is very small. I had to get really close to the screen in order to read it. It would be nice if it could be a little bigger.
There's a solution that works (perhaps) 100% of the time, if I may - 1. Keep building house + lab, patch the rifts when they appear. Keep doing it to accumulate SU 2. The turn when you start with 40 SU, build two factories and a temporal field generator beside them 3. Build two labs in the range of the field. Patch rifts if they appear 4. After accumulating enough SU and RU, build temporal labs and have them covered by more temporal field generators 5. Build the rift generator within range of a field. Now just wait and patch rifts that appear afterwards.
In fact the first step takes an enormous amount of time and the following steps are very quick. Basically the game is won after the set-up is done. Not sure how often the rifts appear. The rate at which they appear decides how long the first step takes.
The tips in the first couple of days are pretty useful as they provide context for the functionalities of special buildings. The game delivers a grim mood which is fitting for the theme. Good job :)
Nice clean art style and the mood would have been perfect with some audio. Gameplay on the other hand wasnt that fun to be honest. I might have missed something but, since there seems to be only one strategy it ended up feeling very redundant and the 3rd action beeing useless until the last few days is kinda odd.
I tried to play the game, but to be honestest I did not understand what I was suppose to do.
Cool usage of the theme
Negatives : The icons being black is kinda weird, the text is too tiny on pc and the beginning of the game is pretty slow. The obvious first goal (a building that would give you more action point) is missing. Also, I don't understand what the rifts do, I let two accumulate at first and it had zero consequence on the game.
Positive : Super cool concept, interesting take on the theme (didn't see any other game doing this) and a very cool game. Was pretty annoyed when I reached the end, I wanted more ! Very well done !
It's a pretty interesting strategy game and I had fun figuring out how everything works. I didn't win yet but I think I understand, what I have to do to win. I'll definitely return to it later. I liked the simple graphics too even if it felt a little empty. I think you captured the mood and dread of being stuck in a loop pretty well! Good job!
I like these types of strategy games. It took me a bit to parse what each of the buildings actually did, and even after reading their descriptions it was a bit confusing. And the number of actions didn't seem to line up very well especially with the earlier math (there isn't any strategy early on where you need the third action), but those kinks can be worked out. The concept itself is nice, and the gameplay has lots of potential. Someone mentioned the rain sounds being nice. It's tough in the compo to do everything, but I agree that just the sound of rain, since it's there on the screen, would have been a nice extra.
