Nice entry. Some more visual variety in the level could have been helpful to help navigate, especially after things start disappearing, but that's a fairly minor complaint. Really liked the ending.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD47 → The Altar Beckons

It's a cute entry, I like that there's different types of things and clues to find. You may want to mention in your post that the Spacebar is the "Talk" button, that took me some time to figure out. :)
Also, for you next game, I suggest you use a kinematic rather than a dynamic character controller. You probably noticed it yourself, but the controls feel very "slippery" as-is. Kinematic character controllers don't have that problem. Also I think you forgot to normalize your movement vector, but I'm not sure.
Oh, I just noticed that the information on the controls is actually in the main menu! D'oh!
This was a neat game, I loved the graphical art style. It managed to blend old school dungeon style games with a cuter aesthetic, whilst still being really clean. The dungeon itself was nice to look at and walk around, I knew what everything was when first looking at it and what would and wouldn't hurt me. I did, however, get very lost. A simple map function would have made the game a lot easier to play and a lot less tedious in the wandering around. Overall this was really neat. I can't expand too much on what other people said, more just reinforce their points and say I enjoyed it
I had fun exploring the underground caves, but once I got back to the start again after placing the diamond, I didn't know what else to do. I also personally wasn't a fan of the camera movement, I wish it moved to the same direction you're heading, not to the opposite, if you get what I mean.
Thank you all so much for the feedback! As a noob dev, especially appreciate @indigo's comment about slippery feel & kinematic character control
Neat game! Very complete!
I kinda missed the ending because
!> I thought I needed to bring that last diamond to the altar as well and suddenly the game restarted. Couldn't even look at all that treasure!

This is so cool! You did a great job and this is a great entry. The graphics especially. And with only a few months experience its even more impressive. Nice!
