Interesting choice of engine
This game could have been interesting but it is EXTREMELY hard. I only tried Survival mode (Pressing A didn't actually start the "Save Everyone" mode) and could only keep the prisoners apart for a few seconds before they killed eachother.
I had to mash my keyboard to figure out even how to play your game. It was also a bit difficult to see where my character was, but I like the visual style and music.
Interesting submission! By the way, x is a and c is b. I had to press every key on my keyboard in order to start the game.
+ HanyzPAPU , same situation.
This is one peculiar submission! very interesting artstyle and odd choice of game engine. Love it :D
Interesting idea. Gameplay could do with some instructions at least. Figured the "a" mode, but "b" was totally lost on me. Nice old school music!
Thanks @lars-erik! In the "b" mode, you play as one of the prisoners and have to stay alive for as long as possible. The main issue is that all the prisoners look the same so it's hard to distinguish which one is you. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to fix the issue. I'll try to remaster the game when I get the chance, I think it deserves it
Can't figure that "a"and "b" means, although it has great concept. I think it'll be better if there're more effect when attack, or disperse
Thanks for the feedback @sheepycrunch, I put the controls in the description. "a" is actually x and "b" is actually c and "start" is actually s.
I think the graphics can be improved. Nice game
This game was challenging due to the control scheme, but nonetheless an interesting title! The graphics and music are very charming. Never heard of Pixel Vision 8 before but it sounds cool! Well done!
Cool little game. The first mode was probably too difficult, I couldn't keep the prisoners alive for more than a few seconds. The second mode, on the other hand, felt a bit too easy, since the player may just spam attack. Cooldown or something like that could improve it.
Hey! Awesome game! Rated well?
The concept is somewhat funny haha
My main concern is the abrupt return to the main menu when the game ends, lacking better feedback on what happened and where. Also, it would be nice to see how much time you played or so.
When I hold left mouse button in Save Everyone mode, the game crashes after a few seconds.
Great music and I like the visual style (the prisoners are super abstracted but still animated, which is cool).
Like other folks, I couldn't keep the prisoners alive for more than a few seconds in the first mode and was able to easily stay alive the whole time in the second one. Because of the lack of clarifying animations and the fact that the game instantly resets when you get a game over, I couldn't figure out WHY I kept losing. It seemed like there were still prisoners left alive each time.
That said, this is a cool concept and I think with some tweaks it could work. I'd love to have more ways of influencing prisoner behavior rather that just the whistle.
