Nice concept. Probably a bit too fast-paced and buildings die too fast in the early stages, I quickly ended up with just one building that's pretty easy to defend. You could make the first night easier (not so many monsters, and they don't hit so hard) but make powerups important for the following nights so that if you lose too many buildings you won't be powerful enough later?

Fun to play though.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I find it impossible to prevent the zombies from breaking all the houses. They're just way too fast. Also, next time write down the controls on the post. Nonetheless, I like the concept, and the music is great!

Definitely make some intensive for keeping other buildings alive. Protecting one building was a lot easier. Overall I like the pixel art and enjoyed the game play. Great job, good luck with your ratings

I like the idea but man the controls don't feel good in this game, the movespeed is too high and the enemies too small so hitting them is a real struggle. This problem is augmented by the fact that zombies taking more than one hit to kill, which imo compared to how quickly your buildings are destroyed doesn't feel great. The shop being a destroyable building is an interesting idea in concept, but leads to some very poor gameplay when coupled with the fact that buildings spawn randomly, you can just get kinda screwed over if it spawns at the edge of the map and then gets instantly munched on by a bunch of zombies. It's a shame really since the game sounds and looks awesome and it would also be a pretty fun shmup if it weren't for that fundamental issue that the character controls so poorly.

The game seems fully functional and all the mechanics seem functional. However, I felt everything moved too fast. The player moves very fast, the enemies moved fast, they damaged the buildings fast. With only being able to shoot in four directions, made it very difficult to shoot enemies before they destroyed your buildings. With just a bit of balancing, this could be quite an addictive game!

All-in-all, a solid entry. Great job!

Hi there! It's a cute little game but it's extremely fast! I'm not sure if I'm just terrible though :) Simple concept, decently executed, just needs the pace slowed down a bit at the very least :)

A solid day/night cycle is hard to program in a jam so it's v impressive. I found the game balls-to-the wall hard. Not sure if it was meant to be sped up but it certainly felt that way. I had no hope in saving any of houses on the first night, my only option was to guard the shop and even then I could only get a few nights in with that strategy. Still, a fun entry, and definitely a unique concept.

Your game respects well the theme !

I liked a lot the fast paced gameplay, however I found that it was really hard to aim properly with the arrows keys, I think that the mouse would be better for the shooting mechanic.

And the houses die too quickly for me, so I couldn't go far x)

Anyway, gg for your work !

Wowzers, second I saw the guy I was like, "well someone gave this hero a lot of coffee!" He's absolutely vibrating with kinetic energy. And it's no lie. I barely had to do more than glance at the keyboard, and he goes zooming around at 100 miles per hour!

I don't mind. I often suggest people's games should move faster, and I am okay with turbo-get-to-the-action!

I was sort of confused at first, though. There seems to be nothing productive to do with the first day, so I was just waiting around. The night would come and OMG the zombies! They smashed it all. First five or ten games I didn't know the shop was the shop, so it didn't exist anymore by the time I would have learned that. It was just "that grey building" and I would end up alone, protecting a single house by standing still at the spot the zombies favored and holding down "shoot" during the night, and then wondering how the game worked all day.

So I caved and read the instructions. "Shoot the items to buy them!" it says. So there are the items, up at the top of the screen. I shoot them a hundred times, but nothing happens. Oh wait, that is my inventory UI bar, not the REAL items! Back to the instructions and I learn there is a shop, which will open on the second day. That's when I realize the grey building means something special, and so I hatch a plan: TONIGHT I will guard just that one shop to make sure it doesn't get wrecked by zombies, because I will ignore the rest of the town to guard just that! This way it's guaranteed not to get wrecked by zombies! ... It gets wrecked by zombies.

The downside of my speed is that I cannot precisely position myself. There's a zombie - shoot him! Wait, a little to the left. No, not THAT far! Now a little to the right. No! You went too far an you're back where we started! Oh wait the shop is gone, which is effectively game over.

It's actually a nice touch that the sand makes you slow. You think that's bad at first but then you realize that sometimes slow and steady wins the race.

I went round and round like this, until I got a few upgrades and started smashing some zombies a little more efficiently. But honestly? I didn't really mind. Because my hyperspeed hero was zooming all over, blast bullets all over, and I was kind of enjoying it! Those zombies are crazy, because I sure wouldn't be attacking that guy's town.

So overall a really interesting little game, just a bit of struggle getting engaged with the systems, due to some confusion.

Pretty sweet job with the music and sound, too, by the way.
