oooh so nice game. the best in this is graphics <3
I liked a lot about this game. I really like the main character graphics. I like that you seem to be a blindfolded sheep, sacrificing other sheep. I don't like how hard some of the jumps are to make. I found the "ladder" section to be particularly infuriating. I think part of that is the control scheme, maybe it would have been easier with a controller rather than Keyboard. But with that, the control scheme needs some work. G for dash was super unintuitive, I just started hitting keys while walking to try and find it. Also, any sort of sound would go a long way to making the game feel better. It's also probably not a great idea to start with the main character off the screen. I wasn't certain the game had finished loading. I wasn't able to finish the game. I got increased dash distance, and I found the only place left to explore, in the upper right of the level, but no matter what I couldn't make the jump. I really wanted to finish because I liked the progression and wanted to see where it went.
Great platformer. It took me a long time (10 minutes?) to figure out the trick after the fourth sheep; I'm not sure if it was intentional or a missing tutorial due to time constraints. Either way, the level design helps a lot in this respect, as there are only ever two places you can go. One other criticism: some of the jumps needed were a little too precise for me, seemingly pixel-perfect. Again, perhaps this was purposeful.
The sprites and animations for both the player and the objects in the game, I can definitely praise without reservation. Additionally, the character controls quite well - I like the fast-fall and the amount of height control.
Love the character designs and graphics. some instructions would really help
I really like the character design.
It would really help if you would at least put a small how-to including the controls into the description.
Are you supposed to be able to do anything with the vases and the bones?
@taddl
Hey! Thanks for the feedback. Added a some info that should help people get started. The vases and bones are just decor.
I liked the gameplay and character art. It's just missing a tutorial and audio (though after a while I just pretended the player character is deaf, so that kind of worked too).
Very cool game, I like how 'sheepy' the character looks, very cute. I do miss audio, but the gameplay is really nice :)
It was very hard to do the double-jump. Great graphics!
Great idea, I loved the art and design!
Fun little platformer! The main character looks like a sheep of some sort too, I wonder what kind of conspiracy is going on...!
The controls mention being able to "Keep holding the button for a higher jump", but without the first sheep sacrifice, I was not able to get this working. Instead, quickly double-tapping the jump button allowed me to jump higher, which I used occasionally throughout the game.
Additionally, the use of an air-jump after an air dash seemed necessary for at least one section of the game, but not only was this ability not explained, it was also very difficult to execute on a regular basis, which made me wonder whether or not it was a bug or exploit (if it was, I'm a bit unsure of how to get the last sheep without it, haha). The jump-squat frames also make jumping feel a bit less responsive instead of more immediate, and led to me falling down a few floors after some unfortunate timing blunders! Whoops, haha!
The art is quite nice, especially the main character, and I like the commitment to non sprite-based graphics! The level layout is simple but generally intuitive, and the use of parallax here gives the environment a sense of depth.
Good work!
Nice art, some jumps were very frustrating to try to make. Some coyote time would make some of those jumps feel better.
A bit hard to double jump, but your graphics are really nice, congrats for it !
Overall nice art, it's a shame there's no sound at all. Map design was ok, but I have two points:
It's not explained how to do the "double jump" or whatever I managed to do sometimes by accident.
To make some pixel perfect jumps it needs a more precise bounding box for player.
Other than that, good work and congratulations!
Love the graphics! Nice Job.
