Cool game, though I think the timer is a bit too short and 25 targets might be a bit tedious with the maze map and the dark. Had fun, good work.
Haha, a game of hide and seek going terribly wrong. I liked the idea and concept, however it does feel quite tedious with such a large map to find 25 people.
Great illustrations to set the mood of the dark cave. I was curious how the story ended, but I gathered a LOT of kids I felt, but still not enough. After I lost, it was too daunting to start all over. As I got late into the game, wandering was quite tough.
I wondered how it ended, by my hand was starting to hurt from pressing the button harder to walk faster! Nice evil touch that the kids ran away sometimes, it's like NOOO don't you know I have a timer??

Interesting game, although a bit tedious, perhaps the ability to pick up more than one person at a time could have remedied this.

I should have mentioned in my comment: When I was playing, I wanted an arrow pointer to "nearest kid" just like you have a pointer back to the statue. Maybe that ruins the "hide and seek" feeling, but it would be so useful.

The artwork is amazing here. I love the dialog boxes animating and overall feel of the game. I think speed abilities or powerups would change the game for the better. Like dash or increase speed for 20 seconds. or going through walls. or enlarged sight for a while. I don't know. Just something to offset how large the map is and how long it takes to get to the next friend. ultimately, a good game
Ludum Dare needs more games featuring cute girls.
Nice illustrations, pixel art and great theme fitting dark concept. Music was good, too. Was a bit of a chore to back track 10 times such distances, maybe could've used those mine carts somehow (for example by putting a friend inside) to make them travel near the altar automatically or something.

Alice ain't effing around is she. Very clever and consistent with the theme. I played it after the change to ten friends required. I really couldn't imagine needing 24. I think there could also be a small balance tweek to get back a little more time when a friend is sacrificed, but overall I really enjoyed this game.
You made a pretty cute game! At first I thought I had absolutely no chance to finish after losing much time and only finding two kids. But the extra time I got after sacrificing the kids didn't make me lose the game until I was carrying the 9th child back to the statue, so there is a reasonable catch-up mechanic. Playing it a second time I had an idea where the kids were and it was easy to get to 10 without time running out.
I do wish there was some kind of arc to what I as a player can do to search. I am sacrificing kids already, why not get the mystical ability to do a *spectral dash* across gaps or something to that extent, to avoid actually doing the same thing 10 times. Especially the run back to the statue gets a little tedious.
The art is cute, both the illustrations and the pixelart is well done, and I enjoyed the music.
