Guys, you need to fix the submission. First, change the download link to http://www.filedropper.com/noroomforerror (cause right now it leads to sharing options). Then, the game won't start - the crash message is about missing UnityPlayer.dll
@wujood @lootgrounds This is apparently a new thing in this latest version of Unity; didn't even know that file existed nor that it was required. I updated the download link and put that extra file in. If it doesn't play now then I don't know what's up. Sorry about that...!
I think there's a vsync/FPS/delta time issue or something. If I launch the game with very low settings, everything is slow motion! Runs fine on Ultra settings! I couldn't get past the blue things on the ground though.
It was a little hard to avoid enemies/jump and their hitboxes seemed too big. I thought the graphics looked great and shooting mechanics felt good.
Your updated download link seems to work :v:
The art and animation is really nice, I can tell that you put a lot of effort into the game's style. The game physics are pretty clunky though, and there's not really any feedback for shooting enemies (something like a red flash or a particle effect would have sufficed). The enemy variety was really nice though, it was surprising to see so much stuff going on in a Ludum dare game. Multiple enemy types, multiple guns, dialogue, pickups. If anything, I would recommend scoping your game down a bit and focusing more on polish next time. Good work though!
Minor feedback note: For a game that takes place in narrow hallways like this, I would suggest only having the camera follow the player on the x axis. This solves the issues of the camera following you up when jump, making it difficult to see where you land.
Jumping is a little weird. And there is probably some delta time issues. You could also add sounds, it would be better. But overall game is nice. I love the graphic.
Really nice game with great mood!the graphics are amazing! Good Luck🍀
I like the graphics style!! Nice job !!
Liked the style of the characters and how they animated! Work on adding feedback to the shooting, like particles or flashing character color. The transition to other sections of the level also felt weird and slowed the game down.
Nice take on the theme.
Graphically, be it the animations or the charadesign it's really nice. The details in the "scenery" are great, nice job on that part too, the title screen is pretty cool, reminds me old sci-fi which is a pretty good thing for me.^^ The death animation is a funny unexpected "detail". I played the game in 1600*900 (windowed) and had no visual / graphical error.
The controls are correct, had no problem on that part either. As for the gameplay it's also correct, I just had black screens with a little yellow '1' written at the bottom of the screen forcing me to restart the game each time it happened, it was when transitioning from one level to an other. The concept is pretty classic and fun, a funny run & gun with different things to do on each level. The variety of weapons and enemies is a nice touch.
Nice entry that would benefit from having music or at least some sound effects. Good job! :)
@ogma Thank you for checking the different window size; I was kind of struggling to figure out window proportions; that kind of screwed up one of my entries before in which all the pictures got kind of shoved off the screen on smaller mooniters... Yeah; Sound I have all the layout in place but couldn't get it done in time. The black screen on restart bug is one that I'm looking into fixing; basically the cleanup script doesn't properly > -<. Still working on the post mortem ^ -^
I'd have liked to know the objectives in each area, since I frequently was confused while beating a level. Graphics/mood is lovely however, great job on that!
The graphics looked nice. And the premises fun. But the controls of the game were very glitchy, so I could not really understand what was going on. Discovering the shooting flyers was a nice surprise (they looked nice). But here too, the interaction felt a bit off. Interresting work though.
