Great Graphics!
Your game sometimes bugs and for example I can't jump and fall into that green acid below or I must click for several times to open gate but if you fix the bugs the game will be fun. Next thing is optimization coz fpses have been falling in browser, maybe from reason that this game is too big for browser. Overally graphics are good and idea is unique. Good job, good luck!
Hey there. Your game is pretty fun and I really enjoyed the graphics for the game and the idea of the memorization while your time is running out. When the jam first started I wanted to do something with the roof or walls closing in on you but ended up going with another idea me and my partner had, so I was really excited to see that you decided to implement a mechanic like this in your game! The only major issues I had was that on level 3 you could just jump from the beginning of the hall onto each pad past the pads with images on them so you didn't need to memorize the images in the room prior. On level 4 the pads at the beginning were hovering too high above for me to even jump onto so I had to give up there? I would have liked to have had some audio for the game to really set the mood and inspire me to play the game. That being said I thought you did a great job on the game for what you have so far, I think you should spend some more time to really finish this game up and it'll be perfect ^-^
Really cute game. The aesthetic is great, and the character model and animations are really nice, well done! The critique would be as you mentioned, the jumping levels are really hard. Maybe find a way to make the jump length more consistent, so you can space out the blocks to match that, would help. But really neat game.
@zaphire Loved the graphics and animations! Definitely the best part of the game for me. I found the movement / camera controls a little hard to get the hang of, maybe that could use a little polishing, or maybe I could just use some more practice. Nice entry!
The game is alright it's just the physics and collisions need some optimization to make the challenges more fair. For example, the inertia whenever the character lands might have produce too much skidding for small platforms. Another problem is that when I barely move I get a good amount of jumping distance when I think I shouldn't. Good entry!
Jumping is impossible! And fun. The idea is nice, though not very original and, in browser, it would be good to capture the mouse, so you cloud turn around freely. There was also quite a bit of lag, and the pictures could've been more suited to the other visuals (which are very nice).
Cool game. I like how it the jumping mechanics developed from the memory game. Props for getting a 3rd person controller in there. Those have always given me trouble.
Visually this is obviously really impressive. Extremely smooth animations and nice models. Guess I would summarize things as follows:
Positive:
* graphics * generally, the memorization part is a nice idea * very nice levels * web version is always a plus * so are moving platforms * game is very easy to grasp
Potential for improvement:
* a bit more direct controls (the character really likes to run in curves and accidentally hit wrong images) * physics are a bit glitchy here and there * jumping is practically impossible to control, but I guess you know that already :) * I think the ceiling has no texture whatsoever * generally, it seems the implementation of the theme actually made the game a little worse than it would be otherwise - I would certainly enjoy it more without the ceiling induced time pressure
And that's about it. Great effort, impressive result, just a few problems that would deserve a fix in a post jam version!
Great game and great graphics! :D
Good graphics, but there were a couple of that made partsof the experience a little bit frustrating. Great effort and great game though!
Nice job!
The game felt a bit like those coordination excersizes, where you pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time. Trying to remember the order while judging the jumps while trying to get to the end as fast as possible. I don't know if it was the intention, but it feels like a ridiculous challenge that an evil twisted wizard might send a knight on, like one of those fantasy movies where the hero has a series of unfortunate trials to beat (like a twelve tasks of Hercules), but where the taskmaster is more sadistic.
I guess I'm saying, I think there's some room for humour in the theming if you were to take it further.
Those later levels were very difficult (thanks for the warning in advance). Is that the standard Unity character controller? It feels like the character has a capsule collider on it and so it slips off the edge when it is just off the edge.
I actually got quite good at the jumping by the end :)
The knight character and animation looks really good of course!
I have a mac so the performance was pretty bad on webGL, a mac build would have helped.
The levels and the character look pretty good. Animation and all that are solid. Not sure if the levels needed that level of detail (cobblestones and all feels like it really drained performance unnecessarily).
Game design wise, I was trying to figure out some kind of rhyme or reason for the things that were "correct", but seems like there weren't any, so trial and error and memory seems to be the mechanic, and that is to me not an interesting mechanic (disclaimer, I didn't read the text before playing the game, I think playing once without that priming is a better way to discover what a game should and shouldn't have. Control instructions, in fact, should be present in the game).
A small thing was that when I initially died and was pushed to the beginning of the room, I was really confused. The ceiling coming down was slow and not very noticeable and it happened a few times before I understood what was happening. The causality of "I stepped on the wrong tile" and "I died and returned to the end" was far removed from one another and that caused additional confusion, in addition to the ceiling coming down not being very obvious, even at the moment of "crush".
Cool effort :)
