Fantastic idea and really smooth execution. I had an absolute blast playing this game with a firend !

My only complaint so far is that post with "neutral" karma can be too hard to guess, but they still deplete your bonus bar if you guess wrong, which is pretty frustrating.

Well done !

antti-haavikko 2018-08-13 04:22

@valden Thanks for playing! I intentionally picked the comments from "controversial" so they would be trickier to guess. But yeah, the ones close to zero can sometimes indeed be very much a coin toss. As always, even after the first feedback I have an improvement idea: show the absolute value of karma and maybe the total sum of the number upvotes and downvotes. That would give the player some more information to base their guess on (and maybe even would make the skip streak skill more useful).

chaitae 2018-08-13 14:21

I'm pretty bad at guessing what everyone else would vote for. I've been sitting in negatives forever. Execution for this game was excellent. I liked the gui.

bovandenberg 2018-08-13 16:37

i realy like the inimations the art tha overall game and that there are so many options as in download links and platforms. keep up the good work.10/10

andrew-friedman 2018-08-13 16:55

UI is beautifal. Audio is gr8. Only complaint I have is that I suck ass at guessing correctly. Good job! :)

dries-vuylsteke 2018-08-13 18:22

Clean UI, a funny tune, a tutorial and a companion explaining the mechanics! The idea is creative and the execution is very well done. I don't see the link with the theme, but going off theme is no problem if the result looks this good of course.

It could be a lot of fun if ported as a mobile game, I'm sure plenty of redditors would enjoy doing this on the train for example.

antti-haavikko 2018-08-13 21:29

@chaitae @bovandenberg @andrew-friedman Thanks for playing and your feedback.

@dries-vuylsteke Yeah, porting it to mobile would be even more of an escapade of "running out of space" with the limited screen estate.

rkuhl 2018-08-14 15:11

A great game, but a couple of the screenshots of text were very hard to read.

antti-haavikko 2018-08-14 15:32

@rkuhl Obviously yeah, that can happen since there is no way to zoom the images. I've also encountered some gifs that don't play correctly and YouTube videos will probably not show up at all. But those are just one offs in a sea of endless posts so it shouldn't be that bad. Thanks for playing!

phantom-dinosaur 2018-08-14 18:29

This is easily one of the most addictive games i've played so far. Really well made. You could make this a proper publishable game and make some buck. But, i don't know how this fits the theme 'running out of space'. Maybe I missed something. Btw, I managed to get to 3rd place in highscores.

2018-08-15 06:50

The game is quite well made and is addictive, but damn! I failed miserably. Maybe because I don't use Reddit and was just terrible at guessing. I love the UI and its animations, especially the glitch effect on pressing the 'More' button on the leaderboard. And I agree with the others, this would be a fun mobile game. All in all, great job.

koala-squad 2018-08-16 18:00

Through no fault of your own, I am unable to rate your game because it directly conflicts with some of the software that I have on my computer. I'll rate the game based on what I can see. First of all, the graphics are awesome and clean, and the idea is just flat out AMAZING. It's really impressive that you executed on this idea so well! It doesn't quite fit the theme that well, but it's still impressive! Good job!

Cheers! - The Koala Squad

tontonpizza 2018-08-16 18:04

sure its innovative

antti-haavikko 2018-08-16 18:12

@koala-squad Hmm, that's weird. Can you drop any more information about the conflict? Was it some antivirus or firewall giving you sass? I promise it's not a virus, I don't even know if it is possible with Unity . I guess other Unity games work for you since your game was made with it too...

anthony-dunlap 2018-08-16 18:14

I like the innovative idea, and the implementation is perfect! Wonderful graphics and catchy music make this a great game!

mouthlessgames 2018-08-16 18:20

Wow, most innovative idea i've seen so far. 5 stars for innovation! I can really imagine this to be some sort of party quiz game for consoles. Like a group of people sitting in front of the TV and guessing together. There could also be 2 teams fighting against each other. Also, your game has something addictive. It's like killing time scrolling through your feed for good laughs. I'm also impressed how well the "packaging" is done - smooth animations that just fit the mood and style of the game. If I had to name two point for improvement: the flying helper thinghy talked too fast and sometimes the text on the images is not readable due to the image's aspect ratio. However, well done!

koala-squad 2018-08-16 18:24

@antti-haavikko Nope, no antivirus. It's an internet filtering software that also includes Reddit, so the part of the game that uses reddit is put out of commission. There's nothing you can do to get around it, and it certainly isn't your fault.

antti-haavikko 2018-08-16 18:57

@frittatenbank Thanks! Yeah, I've noticed that it is most certainly more fun to play with at least one other person so you can discuss your reasonings and laugh at the funny posts together. So I do like the idea of taking it to a party game direction too. But on the flip side, instead of just browsing plain old boring Reddit or any other social feed while sitting on the bus or loo or something, might as well rack up some points on this, so mobile would be another option. Oh and the "flying helper thingy" speech isn't on a timer, it disappears when you click mouse or press any key.

@koala-squad Oh I see, that's an evil filter. But it's not quite true that nothing could be done about it. I at first thought I'd make the connection to Reddit from my own server so I could make a web build (would get rid of the CORS issue and default browser user agent). Then the game client would just communicate with my server. Obviously I didn't go that route because it would have been quite a lot of extra work for just the web build. But yeah, never say "there's nothing you can do" because there pretty much always is a solution in software development if you put enough hours behind it...

boopsgames 2018-08-16 20:55

The game is very nicely polished and networking!!? That takes guts in a 48 hr jam!

Personally, though, I hate reddit and sites like that so this was painful for me. I had to quit after a post from the gore subreddit.

Really nice polish though!

hitchh1k3r 2018-08-17 04:16

 The Graphics and Audio here fit perfectly into the party quiz style. Even the animations are excellent, and very reminiscent of other games in the genre, well not being derived. The mascot fits in perfectly.

:point_right: You could argue some use of the theme.... maybe. It still feels like we got cheated out of the theme in this game though.

:star: Overall good job, and thank you for making this.

josehzz 2018-08-19 21:05

Graphics and music works amazingly together!. The blue mascot following the cursor is a nice touch. To me this doesn't fit the theme but still is a really good entry. If I may suggest to add a option to increase the font size, I played in a low res (800x600) and everything was readable but too small.
