This is fun! The first level instantly "game over"s for me and the third one is really hard, but the second is a good challenge. Really nice art too; the dog's cute. This is a great game for your first jam - I hope you make more!
I'm also running into the bug with the first level. The second one is the more playable of the two, but it's still pretty challenging. I think it's because of the high acceleration on the dog and the inability to progress once I hit a steep wall (I can't seem to jump high enough to get over it). I do like that you managed to animate the dog though (I didn't have time to animate my character when I did a platformer for a previous jam). I also wonder whether you could do more with the idea of a card game. Maybe the combination of selected cards or their order could be significant, like in a real card game?
Anyway, this is a great start as your first game, especially as a solo dev. Would love to see more from you!

I loled when the first card is an immediate game over! Nice attempt. Was that a real dog barking at the end???

@AfroAnt Thank you for your vote. Yes, that was a real dog at the end. Oh yeah, the first card is "Game over", that was the level, what was easy to program. :)

@Evan-Minto Thank you for your vote. Yes, with the first card, you get right away a "Game over". It's not a bug. It was faster to program this one than the two other cards. :) But you right, I had a hard time to give the dog a smooth and nice movement, and at some point, my time was up.

@mahalis Thank you for your vote. I am not sure if I will make another game. It was a crazy challenge. :)

@Dovena I read your story. Crazy challenge indeed! I hope that you learned a lot from this experience and you both had a great time together as an happy little family! Considering the time you put into the development, it is pretty nice! Well done. Could you share your son's game? Would love to play it :dog:
Nice work, I really enjoyed the art! Level three is super hard haha.

@Goutye Thank you for your vote. Oh yes, I learned a lot past weekend and it was not easy. Three days is really a very short time. This is my sons game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/maze-ship He is 14 and all his knowledge about programming he has only from books or google. I am very proud of him. :)

@PolyHatSteve Thank you for your vote. Lol, I know level three is very hard. Did you make it?
nice game! the dog seems to get stuck on the platforms he can't reach it when he's right next to it.
@Dovena No worries, and no I couldn't beat it haha. I'm not great at platforming games though :P

You made really interesting Cover screen. This dog looks so interested with cards. This excited my curiosity :)

Welcome to game dev Dovena, I hope you got something out of this that makes you want to continue :) More people should put their pets into games, that's what I think!
