It looks like it could have been a really good game, sad that you couldn't finish it. I would still like to know more about the rules you wanted to implement, I have no clues on what you wanted drinking to do
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD41 → Wasted Warlocks

Haha too much ambition I guess. I like the cards and the mood even if it doesn't really feel like a wizard is wasting himself. The problems that I see about what you finished : moving square after square is not very enjoyable nor intuitive. It would be better to do the whole move with two clicks or a drag and drop. It is not easy to understand how to go to the next phase and why the click on the phase don't do anything (like in the draw phase or when the drinking is happening).
I like your concept, but this should probably be listed under unfinished. But you managed to come up with a interesting idea and a good atmosphere. Might need some improvement for the controls, then you could consider finishing it as Post Jam Version. Nevertheless good idea and don't give up. :)
@DaragonGames Thanks for the feedback! I think you're right, I wasn't aware of that category. Would people still play a game if it's listed as unfinished?
@conk I'm not sure it would probably see less play than a game in the other categories, but it would be compared to games of this category, maybe the voting is more forgiving. But you can also always get attention by playing and commenting games so I guess it should not stop anyone from playing your game.
@DaragonGames Fair enough, personally I always aim for compo, so when I submit to jam, essentially I've failed :stuck_out_tongue:
Well this is... unfinished. I'm pretty sure it could have been great if you had worked on the fighting mechanics.
@Ryunos Indeed! Seems I need more practice in scoping, going to try and make a few very small games before next LD, may participate in a few mini jams.
I really like the presentation of your game! Graphics are nice, the sound effects are cute and the music is soothing. It's easy to imagine a cool game on this groundwork, but it sadly just isn't there yet. Maybe you continue developing this game? :)

The art looks cool, and the concept myght to... but the game is unfinished, and as you said, it doesnt follow the theme because of it... i would really really like to play a finished version of this! the concept its cool, and the rules seems quite interesting!
Is there any place (like twitter or itch.io) where i can follow your work in order to see when you upload a better version of this? :)
I would totally play this if my computer allowed me to download stuff! The concept looks really fun! So sorry )=
I am really sad that it is unfinished. I played till five of my cards reached the dead end at other side. I love the idea and the visuals look great. The game initially reminded me of Yu-Gi-Oh since the character cards reminded me of monsters and drink cards reminded me of spell/trap cards. It took me some time to understand how to use the drink cards. After finishing the game, I think an in-game tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Great job.
@Beebo-studios I've spent another day on it so far, but figured if I was going to finish it, I'd spend a bit more time polishing up the underlying systems as they're a bit janky having been made quickly. Thanks for checking it out
@Markram Thanks for the feedback! I do intend on finishing it and I'll likely put it on my itch page when it's done. https://cojowe.itch.io/
@maymakegame Ah, no problem at all, cheers for giving it a look.
@Yetman Cheers man! You certainly have a point about the lack of tutorial, something I'm taking from this jam is that if you can't explain the game coherently on day one, it's probably too complicated to make :stuck_out_tongue:
Made sure to follow you on itch so I can maybe play to post jam version someday :) I really dig the direction it's going.
Looks great, sound great (although the music loop is too short) and the design, on paper, is pretty great too! If only the combat code wasn't missing. :frowning2:
Can't say much about the interactivity. Multiple separate phases for each turn doesn't seem like a necessary addition. Usually there aren't any phases per turn, just do what you want and then let the enemies do the same. Maybe you were going for more of a card game vibe, than dungeon crawl tactics.
Do work on it if you have the time. This could be quite something.
