Cute artstyle! the game was fun and is something I would totally play if it had a full version.
Beautiful low poly art and clean soundtrack ! The fishing system that helps you to progress through the enigmas is a lot of fun ! It must have taken some heavy design work to manage to fit several giant aquariums in a closed room and still make it look natural...
Enjoy the art and sound and ambience too. Very cozy little room. That you have to escape. :)
Good game for all that I got to play, it froze the two times I tried I played, both when I was messing around near the bobber.
This was kinda fun! Never would have thought of using fishing for something like this. Game has a nice look and atmosphere, puzzles were clever, overall very pleasant.
Fantastic game! I had heaps of fun trying it out.
Things I liked: Really impressive visuals; nice mood set up with lighting and ambient music. Attention to detail in modelling. Atmosphere manages to be both relaxing and unsettling - great balance shown here.
OK stuff: Very few bugs - just a few visual glitches I noticed but that's to be expected with doing something so bleeding-edge and with only a few days. The fishing part of the game went by extremely quickly compared with the puzzle part. Sound effects were great but there weren't that many of them ... more would rock.
Ideas for next time: Make the first couple of clues bleeding obvious so people get the idea of how to play. It took me a while. Give players visual and audible prompts for the user interface. I don't think electric eels work that way. :P
I love games with aquatic themes, so I had to play it when I saw the srceenshot and it was great fun. Even if it took me way to long to figure out what to do with the lobster.😅
Fun ambience, but I got stuck after turning the lights on (?) because I couldn't figure out the code.
It's a nice little room escape game. Graphics are nice, and a nice atmosphere overall!
I found the puzzles to be pretty easy myself, I basically just blasted through so it felt a bit on the short side for me. But it's safer to go easy when doing Ludum Dare so it's understandable. I don't think fishing puzzles are really that uncommon (thus not necessarily something I would call incompatible with a puzzle game), but at least this has a heavy emphasis on relying on it to get through.
All in all, well done!
Played the HTML5 Version. Fun game, took me a while to figure out how to get the lobster's paper (due to being blind) but generally not too easy nor hard. I've never seen a puzzle game utilize fishing like this game does, so I'd say the theme has been fulfilled. Graphics, atmosphere and mood all seem fitting, also dat starfish's face doe. Only kinda negative point I found is that the game freezes when you stand very close to the fence, aim close to one of its fence posts and cast you rod. Not a big deal IMO since this only happens at a specific position and specific angles but wanted to note it.
Ultimately a very fun game, great job! :D
Lighting really adds to the feel. Very creative way of doing an escape game! I love it!
I couldn't figure out anything past putting the eel in the socket and the paper on the shelf. I have no idea how to get the paper from the lobster. The art is great though and the music is very soothing.
GJ! I'm bad at fishing
I'm a fan of escape rooms, and it was great fun to play it!
Great level design, modeling, lighting, and atmosphere.
Unfortunately the soundtrack sounded like it would be neat, but the sound effects (water splashing, panel beeps, etc.) were SUPER loud in the balance for my headphones, so I never got to appreciate it. Otherwise it would have probably added to the atmosphere.
It took forever to accidentally add clams as bait. For some reason it didn't seem to register at first, but eventually it happened and I solved everything!
Also howdy to fellow fishing game creators. :P
