Nice idea, didn't get the controls at all though.

I agree with @Nehvis, but the core concept seems nice.
@Nehvis @Peter Jonsson Thanks for your feedback. We took a look at our description of the game mechanics and revamped it. I hope they're more clear now.
It is a really fun game. I especially like the "one device two players" style. The biggest problem is the slightly unclear controls, but they are not too hard to understand so its more like discovering hidden features than finding key functionalities. Another problem is the clunky camera and how you sometimes cant differentiate between blue and red figures (rocks). Had a lot of fun playing though when not stuck with a bug.
@DDog thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We'll take a look at the issues you mentioned, especially the part with getting stuck because of a bug. We've already heard this from several sources and are actively investigating it.
What an amazing concept! Genuinely would like to see this expanded with more maps and unit types (rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock?!)
My only gripe was the replication mechanic, it felt forced and poorly communicated, I think the game would be stronger without it.
@Almax Thanks for your feedback, at the beginning we wanted to make a tutorial scene that explains every mechanic of the game in detail but we couldn't finish it in time.
At the moment the game is not really balanced and therefore the replication mechanism is a bit overpowered in my opinion (We'll take a look at the balance outside of LD)
I am so sorry. I could not figure out how to play the game. And I think my clicks weren't working for some reason. I got frustrated and quit. I could not quit normally perhaps due to some bug. Not sure. But the game looks absolutely beautiful, and you did a nice job with the graphics. The sounds was very nicely polished as well. Nice job!
Once you get the controls this is a great concept and is nice to play two players :)
Took me a while to figure everything out (mainly cause i'm slow, lol) but after a while i cracked it and really enjoyed the game! ;) The eastern inspired music was pretty chill and the graphics and attack animations were cool too. Sadly i'm forever alone, so i had to play with myself (luckely no stranger to that, LOL!) but i would've loved for the game to have an AI opponent. Granted though... in 72h i don't think that would be possible cause the mechanics are so deep. Well done though! Overall, i had a great time.
I like the mood, graphics and idea. Sadly, I think the game is too unbalanced for now. Moves are not well balanced with capacity. We lose this "one weakness, one strentgh, one neutral" feeling of the original Paper, Rock, Scissor. Seems not that far though. I prefer the little arena. More direct gameplay. And I ever used the duplication power.
I like it. The mechanics could be a little more clear.
The visuals, music and effects are really good.
Good job!
Thank you for your detailed feedback @Utho @Remi-Gourrierec @lolfrad
Took me a while to understand the controls, but after I did it did become quite fun. The game has some potential behind it. The obvious additions are better balancing, a tutorial, online multiplayer and AI, but all in all the game does the theme justice and is really well made.
Unfortunately I didn't have a friend handy to fully explore this game, but the concept certainly seems interesting. Paper seems a little underpowered just because of the movement restrictions.
What I liked :thumbsup::
* The excellent idea which is the cornerstone * Visual component, stylish graphics * Animation, very well made attack. Very surprised that the paper is torn and gets combat marks
My comments:thinking: * Long phase of preparation. At first everyone on turn puts figures, then still to move them. Can it be just to make random positions of figures and remove this stage? * Too many figures can be moved per turn. It's hard for everyone to keep track of them.
I would be very glad if [you review my game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand-1) :mag:
@Darkwing00Duck Thanks for the very detailed feedback. Regarding the preparation phase, we are planning to implement a seperate game mode which skips the phase and places units at random positions.
It's an interesting idea, but I think the controls could use some work.
I couldn't get the replication to work. It said to right-click to place the new unit, but it wouldn't do it. I tried it a bunch of times before finally giving up. Not sure what I was doing wrong.
Otherwise, this looks pretty well done for a turn-based strategy game.
