I found it hard to play the game. I always manage to put the first hover on the base. But then I can't progress any longer. Hope it was just about my lack of skill... Cheers

I like the idea of this game but some wonkiness made the game feel a bit frustrating. Firstly, I had expected the hoverbots to fly like drones as they feel as if that's their inspiration. Unfortunately their operation felt off. It took me longer than it should honestly to realize that the controls were translated into your perspective as opposed to staying simpler. IE, hitting left simply makes your drone go left instead of spinning in circles like IRL. After i got used to that navigation made more sense at least. After finding the charging port I tried to store my drone because I thought that was the idea. I hit enter and it asked for confirmation to go to the next area despite the fact that I hadn't gotten many items. I hit escape to try to go back out and fly looking for stuff but that prompted me to quit the game. Then I got stuck being unable to do anything other than go forward to next level or to quit the game. The confirmations didn't seem to give any actual ability to back out of them and return to gameplay.
I apologize if this comment is a downer, I imagine a lot of my dismay is simply user error. Anyhow, congrats on finishing the jam!
This game was extremely confusing to me. I started the game up and found that I had no idea what to do. other than that, the music was pretty good and the graphics are not so bad either. hope you enjoyed LD
The fun of this game comes from how hard to control it is, kind of like an Octodad. My drone was flying all over the place and crashing into walls and I loved it. One annoying bit was the tractor beam - it didn't want to pick up the thing I wanted it to sometimes.
I liked the initial level, was well designed to learn to play. The only problem I found was the controls, on the keyboard is kinda hard to play (hovering and throwing the items at the base), but when I switched to gamepad was cool to play. Good game.
I am confused!
I'm on a Mac, but I set up a VM to run Windows so I could play and rate some more games. Sadly my little machine just isn't up to the task of running this one... just wanted to pop in and say thanks for your review. Keep making games, and have fun!
Thanks for the feedback so far everyone! It certainly was built more with a controller in mind than keyboard. We did also try for a mac build but the version we got was running really slowly on my partner's MacBook. We also had a WebGL build running briefly but we struggled to have it fit its window properly.
When conceptualising the game I was intentionally going for something a little unclear and unwieldy but with a solid feel once you find your feet, trying to further the idea of being lost in the dark. Maybe we pushed that a bit too far! Definitely recommend controllers to try and aid any of those problem keyboard feels.
Nice game but I got stuck. I lack skills i guess :)
Good, fun an original game. However how the bases work definetly needs a tutorial. Is super easy to get lost between the upgrades system and if you skip all the clicks to skip to next level you can even get stuck with absolutely nothing too do. Despite this, I think is a game with a lot of potential and with this problems solved, It would be a pretty solid entry.
