nice!
20/20 would play it again
I recommend playing the game before reading this comment!
Wow! I absolutely love this entry! Let's get the negatives out of the way so I can start gushing about the things I like.
The player animation is super cute, but isn“t playing correctly which gives the game a worse first impression. The dialogue with Mort is way too fast to do the things he talks about; it would be better if the player could advance the dialogue by pressing some kind of key. Halfway through the second day, picking up gasoline stopped working.
------------SPOILERS----------------
When shit hits the fan, the music also gets too loud. It really started to hurt my ears and I was not able to turn the volume down because I needed to avoid dying.
Now to the positives: I absolutely adore both the concept of your "one room" as well as the atmosphere of the game. I was completely caught off guard by the twist. It starts off so cute by shining your lights and getting rid of some animals; you are defending your cottage from the foxes. When the ghosts start coming, I did not want to be in that room anymore, and I definitely didn't want to defend it. I managed to reach Day 4 ( I guess it's the end since the enemy seemed unavoidable ? ) and everything becoming so twisted is superb.
Nice game! i like it :3
Nice game with some good artwork. Walking animation was at times a bit strange.
It seems to hang right on the title screen =(
win7x64, tried windowed and fullscreen. Probably just my old vidyacard
@Volcanic Giraffe Hello, the title screen does take a while to load the game. can take upwards to a minute.
Nice art and fitting music. I could barely run the thing though, it crashed after pressing space to start--tried again without Firefox running and it worked, reason being it takes 1.4 GB of memory up while running. At 1080 it was very laggy visually and the controls were tough to use. It was funny though and I like the creative interpretation of the theme. I didn't really get what to do besides go to the windows to chase foxes away and refill the generator--maybe because the lag was distracting but the tips at the beginning seemed to go by too fast, they could probably be spaced out a bit. Anyway, zany, and overall I like the art style and the music although it got oddly repetitive pretty quickly.
@KJB of IBwWG thank you for your feedback, it has been noted. Have you made it through all 4 nights? There are more things two do in the other three nights! Every night has a different music track and new art as well. (:
Nice art style. It hangs for quite a long time on the home screen before starting.
I was lied to by the cuteness and the fluffiness.
But that was an enjoyment that I will not be able to have the second time through.
1st of all I really love the top down animation and the animals. About the gameplay I'd say it scales too slowly, the 1st night is long and you really just need to keep adding fuel to the generator. Would have loved to suffer right away with the management of the light system.
Overall great, specially for the art!
Really good considering it was made within a single weekend, it feels like a full complete game with all the different elements coming together nicely. Only thing I would add to the game would be buttonprompts whenever your close enough to interact with an object, at the start I had slight trouble with finding the "sweet spot" of where I had to stand to interact with objects :).
@Elemental Zeal Games Studios Thanks! We are working on optimizing the title screen a bit. We just made an update which indicates the game is loading as opposed to appearing like it's crashing.
@bigbuggames Thanks for the feedback! We will absolutely look at the scaling of the nights. We've heard it might be a bit long.
@Indiestry Thanks for the kind words. The interaction sweet spots aren't super clear, you're right. We are already planning on adding a text indicator when you're within range of them. Thanks for playing!
loved it
