To be quite honest I had no idea what I was doing, and I feel that the controls were a little iffy. With a bit more direction this good be good.

Thank you videogreg93 for the feedback. I'm adding some more info to help people start playing ^^

Wow this was really awesome!
The usage of tile physics was really cool! Once I figured out I had to build pyramids to launch everything sorta clicked! The art and the music could be better but as a whole this game is great! The gameplay is really unique!

@Matex-7seven I'll try to give it another go. Maybe my mind is still fried from this weekend lol.

Like, I can see the idea here, and can appreciate the tile physics, but even after looking at the instructions multiple times, it took me a while to figure out how to control the game or what to do. Work more on the player feedback, and you might have an enjoyable little arcade game. As it stands, the game is pretty impenetrable.

I would suggest this for its control scheme:

WASD move
Left mouse button places or removes a block
1-4 switches blocks
Space jumps
S launches

Most people are accustomed to using WASD for movement while using the mouse for precision, such as placing or removing blocks in games like these

A pretty darn complicated game. Lots of things to do with pretty odd controls... The idea is pretty cool, though!

Took me a while to get, and the controls can be better. But overall a fun game! I enjoyed playing it:3

@Pix3M I'm working in a pos-compo version with better controls. Stay Tuned everyone~

peterthehe 2016-08-29 14:24

Slightly confusing at first but managed to do so in the end. Quite humorous though there were random graphics glitches throughout the game. Idk if they're because of the game or just my computer being stupid.

matex-7seven 2016-08-29 14:55

@peterthehe OH that's a really rare bug that sometimes happens with the spwan of blocks dropped by the Beetles. I think in the next version "pos compo" i'm working on this will be fixed.

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Ok, at first I had no idea what was going on, the controls were confusing! But when I finally understood what I had to do, it actually became quite fun! It was a little stressful managing the tiles, it felt hard to drain all the water when I had 99 blocks of it. I had a lot of fun building stuff. I got a score of 4 on my last try. Good job!

lightsoda 2016-09-08 12:07

That had a pretty steep curve for something so simple, but I finally managed to kill a beetle.

This could've been more accessible with some tweaks to how the build mode works, maybe have it always active and just press a key to place/pick up a block where you are facing, removing the arrow or WASD keys all together. More keys, more confusion :)
