@keyboardsan Did you unzip the file? AFAIK my games don't work unless you do, due to the fact that images and stage files are loaded externally. In either case, I added a warning about this to the description.
Couldn't jump past that big second jumpy thing.. also I pressed C a lot near that half shroom, and nothing happened but it said oh pain.. :D am I doing something wrong? :D Music was nice though :-p Also, why is this little mushroom a monster?
@azakhary Shroomer the shroomer is the first enemy, so obviously it's not a very threatening monster. Also, Shroomer is able to wall jump. The jump key is what you press to exit dialog, not the C key, that's for something later on.
Overall I thought this game was quite nice, some in-game instructions would be nice though and I found the wall jumping hard to grasp at first, I found the platforming mechanics nice but the wall jumping was a bit repetitive in nature, I didn't find my self enjoying this game that much as much of the gameplay was the same thing over and over again with slight changes, it was quite funny at parts but I think it would have been better if you polished off the mood a little, nice game overall though, well done.
I like that the theme is more than another sprite for the player avatar, here its a twist of the common platformer with a different perspective. The blatant text at the end made me chuckle. Music was decent and at times effective. Wall jumping felt crude and was a unrealized mechanic. Levels felt too long, since they were too empty. I think they are artificially padded but that is a mistake, the story told can be even more effective if it's short, concise and to the point. Overall, well done.
Nice little platformer, the fact that you can only walljump if you press against the wall confused me at first and i thought you could'nt walljump.
@Mister_Melon Thanks, I did plan to utilize the wall jumping more, but frankly, I managed my time very poorly. I might want to make a post compo if I feel bored one day, as this is actually a story I'd like to fully realize. As for the in game instructions, yeah, I definitely should have done something about that, but with only 30 minutes left, it was either rushed instructions or a rushed cameo. ...yeah I chose poorly, didn't I?
@Mizipzor Yeah, I'm a little rusty at level design, and the 48 hours didn't really help. In retrospect, I probably suffered in the long run by dragging the first part out too long. Because of it, I didn't get a chance to fully utilize the pipe breaking mechanic, or even implement some of the other things I wanted to do.
@Juin I see if altering the walljump will make it less awkward if I make a post compo version.
haha, nice platformer and good graphics !
Nice music I like. Climbing system is fun. Good Game
Well done. I really enjoyed the retro style of the game HOWEVER, its a great shame the the controls are so slippery. i don't know what physics engine you used, but one thing to always keep in mind, both in 2D and in 3D is that characters are kinematic objects not physics objects, which is why there movements isnt force based, apart from that i really enjoyed the game. good job! :)
@Frozen Ninja Actually, I didn't use a physics engine at all, though I might have made the friction a bit too low, given how I didn't actually reference how I usually do that from my older code. It should be quickly fixed by changing just that value. I personally didn't notice it being too slippery, but if I make a post-compo version, I'll try fiddling with it a bit more.
Nice game, wasn't really sure where to go at one point. But I did enjoy it. Nice work.
It said There you are and froze.
@Slapunas You press the "X" key at that point. It's the button that progresses through dialog.
Time to get lost...
Simple. well made game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/gLe7oOEiGe0
