I like that I can customize my ship, but there doesn't seem to be any real point to the game other than that, and at the beginning your ship is really bad because you can't afford a hull if you want cargo, guns, and an engine. Space pirates or multiplayer would make this game really cool. That or more interesting ways to mine resources than shooting asteroids.

sez 2014-08-25 13:56

@shico:
I agree, I wish I had more time implementing Space Pirates and such. The first day I made the editor, only the second day I started on the gameplay. I only finished the trading part about half an hour before the deadline and the balance of the game did not take more than 10 minutes. By increasing the cost per unit I tried to put some challenge into it.
Thanks for playing and your comment :)

prof 2014-08-25 14:57

Definitly looks better than mine game) had similar idea

perecil 2014-08-25 15:07

Really liked it, even if we feel the ending rush :). It's some kind of cross between Space Engineers and Elite.

@prof & PERECil:
Thanks for playing!

prof 2014-08-25 16:38

And thanks in return) Also, updated game. Now runnin into something much easier.

Somehow you did fix the symmetrical bug that was causing the ship to steer. I think it was due to a pixel offset when placing a mirrored part. I'm really glad you did fix it! Other issues weren't really bugs and it's perfectly fine the way it is.

I'm sad I didn't finish my entry because I would've loved to rate yours.

Awesome job!

ifred_qc 2014-08-25 17:32

Lol.

Nevermind, the symmetrical bug is still there. If of any help, it didn't happen with this ship design until I changed the thrusters to the small ones.

sez 2014-08-25 18:53

@iFred_QC:
Wow, nice ship you have there! Thank you very much for the kind comments. If I have it in me, I will try to replicate the bug and fix it. But for now I am not touching any code at all :D
Thanks again!

lukz 2014-08-25 20:29

I'm really impressed that you managed to make that game in 48h!

sez 2014-08-25 20:40

@iFred_QC: I thought about it during dinner: You have to mirror the piece as it checks for the axis center for it's thrust. If you flip it horizontal, you're all good.

@lukz: Thanks! I am impressed myself that it all worked out in the end. :D

simonnaus 2014-08-26 19:45

Really nice game. Impressive for a 48 hour jam! One note though, I could use switching to editor mode as a hand brake.

honcho 2014-08-27 08:51

Fantastic! Loved the ability to customize my ship which was also integrated with progression. Would love to see a final version! Lots of potential.

sez 2014-08-27 18:56

@simonnaus: Thanks! I totally forgot to assign the brake to the 's' key, so at least there's a way to brake now :)

@John: Thanks, I am thinking of picking it up in some form or another, but I have no concrete plans yet.

capitals 2014-08-27 21:22

Developed a bit more and this game would be one of, if not the, best game this year.

jab 2014-08-27 21:23

Very nice UI, graphics and audio. Interesting mechanic but I was only able to construct ship behind the helper window..

teamconn 2014-08-27 21:24

Great idea and nice ship building. Could not re-open the help though, which was a bit annoying.

tbamberg 2014-08-27 21:57

Pretty fun, would be awesome if there was something else to shoot other than rocks ;)

canyon 2014-08-28 11:34

I love the graphics and the editor. I actually guessed the controls for rotating and flipping pieces, and when I was right it made me really appreciate your choices.

I never came across any other ships. I wish I could, so I could trade. I'd be really interested to hear about any future updates to this. Heck, I'd love to help in any way if I can. :)

canyon 2014-08-28 11:37

Do you have a twitter or anything? I'd really like to hear about updates to this.

canyon 2014-08-28 11:38

Haha my bad didn't see it

sez 2014-08-29 07:30

@Capitals: Wow, thanks!

@jab & TeamConn: Thanks! You can enable/ disable the help menu by hitting 'H' or clicking the '?' button in the editor. Let me know if that didn't work.

@tbamberg: I totally agree, getting shot at doubles the fun :)

@Canyon: Thanks! You can only trade at planets at the moment, I did not have the time to implement other ships.
For anyone reading along, my twitter is @sezdev as is my facebook page.

Thanks to some amazing feedback I am really thinking of expanding on this. I would love to add some more in depth battle mechanic, better trading, more exploration, more everything and the ability to construct the inside of your vessel, adding loads of more possibilities. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it a lot!

nesis 2014-08-29 19:44

Good job making such a robust ship-creation system in 48 hours. One of my favourite parts was accidentally fitting a gun on sideways instead of forwards... heh heh! Nicely done.

eddy93 2014-08-29 22:51

Nice job with the editing system and the graphics, I liked those most! Like the others said: I missed some meaning of the game. But for a guy with burned hands and a first participation you did a pretty good job!

tijmentio 2014-08-30 11:30

Wow wow wow super sick spacecraft building mechanic!!! Maybe it could use more gameplay, but it's there. And that's all really impressive for a hand-burned first-timer. I miss more explosions and music. But dude nice work man cheers.

sez 2014-08-31 15:56

Thanks a lot :)

ajopart 2014-09-15 21:36

strong building menu ! Neat graphics, but lack of things to do ;-)

peerplay 2014-09-15 21:37

Pretty awesome extended shipeditor, especially for the 48hours in which you were restrained! The snapping went sometimes abit off, but i've played for a few minutes so far. I agree with others that the gameplay itself could use abit more 'fun' factor, but this could easily be worked out to something great. Tomorrow I will play more :P

teamawesome 2014-09-15 21:42

Hugely impressive entry. Physics and ship building are amazing for 48 hours!
