Bug when trying to play. Getting a black screen and cmd log full of these -
Failed to play audio stream: sound parameters have not been initialized (call Initialize first)
to play game, create a new folder called "ludumDare29" on your c drive and extract zip contents into it
audio and graphics bugs(including black screen) are caused when the program is unable to load the correct files, follow instructions above if such bugs occur
edit: folder creation no longer necessary, since folder is now included in download. so, the full path should be:
c:\ludumDare29\ludumDare29.exe
A mouse cursor that camouflages with the background is not the best idea!
"Failed to play audio stream: sound parameters have not been initialized (call Initialize first)"
Windows 8
Antivirus let me run it
No idea why this is happening
Failed to play audio stream: sound parameters have not been initialized (call initialize first)
If sound bugs persist, ensure the following:
--------------------------------------------
you downloaded latest version
ludumDare29 folder is in correct place(C:) and art folder
is inside ludum dare folder(see post above for full path)
all dlls are present(probably true)
all sounds are present(probably true)
run as administrator(?)
------------------------------
if problems still persist, try deleting the following files from the art folder as a temp. fix:
engineSound.ogg
digsound.ogg
music1.ogg
will give you errors and no audio, but should run
sfml has problems with windows 8
Slow mining, while superspeed invulnerable spiders are hunting you down, is not my favorite kind of game.
Can't get it to run.
Had to unzip to C: to run as specified. Surely there has to be a better way of building these things? Oh well. The spiders move too fast to be dealt with, I couldn't figure out how to place turrets, and I had odd constant sound popping glitches. Game seems impossible to survive in!
The cursor was offseted which was quite confusing. And why is it installation-location-dependent? The ui was unclear and you get no visual feedback of the fact that you are mining or being hit by spiders, or placing a turret. Also, the music is not really horrifying :P
Didn't work
