Once I figured out the controls (note to self: read the description of every LD :P) it became pretty reasonable. I wish the projectile went just a BIT further, and it would have felt much better if I simply fired it and then it went the full length.
Possibly just me, but just not a fan of the mechanic of having to hold down each shot - it just felt like it slowed the pace of the game down, and it was already pretty slow to begin with since you had to break through the blocks. Speaking of which, I think it probably takes too long to break the blocks.
But, pretty good tech anyway - good job!

Pretty much a remake of Dig Dug. It's OK, save for glitches which appear after resetting the game.
sink_t : Thanks so much for playing! Could you be a little more specific about what the glitches are? The only one I'm aware of is a small graphical glitch with the link between your character and the projectile. I plan to fix this in the morning (fixing graphical bugs is allowed, as far as I know). Is this what you were referring to?

That was fun, the furthest I got was round 5.
I dig the pixel art and music. Dig Dug is obviously your inspiration for this, which is cool because I love that game, but it would have been nice to see some kind of mechanic that switched things up from the original. I always thought power-ups would be fun of this type of game.
john_conder9 was saying breaking blocks took kind of long but I found that repetitively attacking walls was a faster way to dig (not sure if that was intended or not).
The only glitch I noticed was the tube/link/whatever for the pump projectile not rendering after you die for the first time. Refreshing the page fixes it for me. Other than that it seem well implemented.

I like the mood, especially the music. I got used to controls quite quick. My only comment would be that digging is a bit slow, making exploration a bit boring compared to combat and difficult to use rocks as weapons.
A good entry. Good job!

Nice arcade game! A very addictive one too! The graphics and sound really threw me back to my childhood. Great entry!

Nice idea and soundtrack, need more declaration before playing and more items to be added :)
It's Dig Dug, except not. It's still fun, if not very original.
That was a very intersting and fun mechanic.
Also letting you know that my game now has a windows build available (You commented saying you could help me compile for Windows, but I worked it out myself. Thanks for the offer though) if you would like to try it.

The fire was very cool, and shooting the blocks was satisfying. I wish it were a bit harder, though.

The central mechanic is fun and addictive. But it could be sped up a bit -- maybe make the process of digging less arduous? Also the difficulty could be upped a bit. The graphics and music work well though. Oh, and I love the title.
It seems you took my last comment the wrong way, but here's a more in-depth review and criticism:
At first, I found the orientation of the game slightly confusing. The graphics led me to believe there would be gravity, but then when there wasn't I was a bit unsure what was going on. It took me a few playthroughs to get it.
I found the idea of 'blowing enemies up' quite amusing, while not causing any negative effect to the rest of the game. Well done on that.
The additional method of crushing enemies with rocks was quite a nice feature, and perhaps more rocks on the level would allow it to be better used.
Maybe it's just my mouse, but sometimes while I was blowing up the enemies it would release them.
The slowness of breaking the blocks was quite annoying, but it looks like you realised that.
My speakers are dead atm so I couldn't judge the sound.
Apart from the fact that the game was underground, I'm not sure how much this relates to beneath the surface. It felt like the same game could be put in any environment and still feel the same. (I know I didn't do this well either)
This feels a lot like a game which I know I played when I was younger, but I can't remember, so you get a bit of a bonus for nostalgia. ;)
If there was one thing I think would make the game better, it would be more variety in enemies. I noticed that new enemies were being added after a few levels, but it felt too slow for the pace of the game.
@HeroesGrave : I was mostly yanking your chain in my comment, but I realize satire isn't always so clear on the internet ;) Thanks for taking the time to come back and give more in-depth feedback, though. I appreciate it. I think "Dig-Dug" is likely the game you're thinking of from your youth? I (obviously) took heavy inspiration from it. There are quite a few more features that were in-development to expand upon the game, but of course there's never enough time. I hope to find the time to finish them and combine them with all the great feedback you and everyone else has given me. Thanks again.
