No luck getting this to run. Busy mouse pointer, then nothing.

mattchu 2012-04-23 18:08

Neat idea. I didn't quite get it at first, and didn't see any instructions. I eventually got it, but I still lost, heh.

Hume: That's odd, i'll try to see if i can find the problem (i'm not too hopeful, though, since me and my friends run it great, so it's hard for me to replicate). Do you have the latest version of the XNA redistributable ( http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=20914 )installed?

mattchu: Yeah, sorry about that... I didn't have the time to make an ingame tutorial and i forgot to make a readme to go with the download :I At least there are (somewhat thin, i admit) instructions on this page :P

Interesting idea! I liked the music quite a lot.

The gameplay kinda felt a bit boolean with the puzzle element - at the start I had 0 idea how to win, and then as soon as it clicked I knew exactly what to do, and from then on it didn't feel like there was any challenge to it. I may have just been getting lucky with my choices though. Does the spacing on the grid have an effect on the outcome of combining a lepton and anti-lepton?

Cool stuff anyway :)

***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

Please consider making a browser game next time.

Sorry, couldn't play... I get a busy cursor and then nothing. No errors no anything...

naouak 2012-04-24 20:52

I didn't understood much. I managed to get pass the first stage but I didn't know how.

jason.bakker: Thanks for the compliments! The gameplay is not very refined, i'm not too ashamed to admit (since it was the part i figured out last, some five hours before deadline), and neither are the levels themselves. This is my first puzzle game, and making difficult puzzles takes some time, though i believe that it will get easier once i get the hang of it.

Regarding your question: As it is now, the only thing affecting the outcome of an annihilation is the orange spawning square, though i hope to iterate a bit upon all the gameplay elements and see if i can add a bit more depth, perhaps in a later release :)

devwil: Consider it considered! :D

Nocturne: I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, i don't have a fix for this and perhaps never will. I believe it to be some kind of incompatibility problem with XNA, over which i have no power :/

Naouak: I'm sorry to hear this as well. Did you read the instructions here on the submission page? if you did, what part didn't you understand? I would very much like feedback on this part :) (Yes, i know there should have been instructions ingame, but unfortunately my time ran out! :P)

I like the theme with the subatomic particles. The actual puzzles was a bit too simple perhaps.

davedobson 2012-04-26 04:25

Interesting basis for a game - it seems like it would be easier to understand without the physics background, but it wouldn't be as cool then. More instructions might help - it wasn't obvious why certain moves were possible or what you were trying to do. Would be a neat puzzle game if more complete.

How interesting! I'd say polish the graphics, add a bit of variety to it, and it'd make a great mobile game! Was a bit disappointed that the sound didn't loop, but no biggie. Thanks for sharing your game!

gemberkoekje 2012-04-26 09:19

I think you've built your game in DEBUG mode; when releasing to a public I'd advise to do it in RELEASE. Also, the PDB file is only useful for Visual Studio, and deleting it will not affect your game. Hit me up on Twitter if you'd like more advise on these matters :)

demonpants 2012-04-26 18:39

Can you get a Mac version going through Mono?

m-gryko85 2012-04-26 22:46

Nice idea. It take me awhile to understand.
Very good and moody music

emongev 2012-04-29 20:50

Great execution, but i didnt feel amused, i think adding some visual feedback after selecting a lepton on the ones you can select afterwards.

raptor85 2012-04-30 22:48

can't test due to xna dep, doesn't run in WINE

gunmonkey 2012-05-04 07:49

pretty cool idea
