Unfortunately, because of your choice to use MSVC++ and your neglect to ensure it would compile on something that isn't MSVC++, your game is not cross-platform at the moment.
This means I will have to try this in Wine. (Just quickly tested it, it seems to work.)
In future, PLEASE get mingw32 or something, and every now and then test-compile your code with that. It should help with making your game more portable, considering that g++ is spewing errors about abs() not being "declared in this scope".
I am thankful that you used OpenGL rather than DirectX though, but I hate C++ and don't want to be dealing with errors.

Awesome man. Works great. Not very much content but I like the look and feel of the game. I especially enjoyed the music. Good luck.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, GreasyMonkey. This was my first LD and I made the mistake of not considering other computers until the last minute. I just had to turn CLR off in the compiler as I don't actually use MSVC. I definitely won't make the same mistake next time.
Again, thank you very much for your time.
And now I get to rate this. Goody!
Admittedly this game did get kinda old after about 3 levels. It wasn't particularly fun, and it wasn't particularly innovative.
As for the rest of it...
The voxel graphics were very effective. I'm not sure if I want to give you 4 or 5 stars; I've decided on 5.
Audiowise, the music was quite fitting. A few more sound effects would have been good (I kinda forgot that you had bullet sounds, but hit sounds would have helped).
I didn't pick up on humour, so N/A for that.
In terms of theme and mood, I think you did well. The general mood was that of hopelessness, and was amplified by those grumpy old gits you shoved in there, for lack of a better term.
Overall, not particularly fun to play, but still somewhat interesting.
Communitywise, I could see a lot of screenshots. A few betas would have been nice, though - source + binary dumps are the way to go.
My advice: spend more time on enhancing the gameplay. You seem to have no trouble with creating thematics, though.

The game has good graphics- though it's been done to death, I think you pulled off the voxel feel pretty well. However, aside from that, there's not much to it- the game doesn't feel fast-paced or frantic, which would make sense in a shooter like this. There was no variety in the enemies, no threat. But I think that with more work done, this little shooter could go places.
I respectfully disagree and think that games based on only textures and or 3D models has been done to death for decades. However your comment was very positive and I am grateful that you took the time to be constructive rather than just rating it and moving on.
Could be an interesting start to something bigger :)

Yay, voxels! This game was quite cute! Also, I REALLY liked the boss taunts, they gave some charm to your game.
A few things you might want to improve:
- More player feedback! I couldn't tell when I was taking damage, nor how fast - the HP numbers were too small, and in a place in the screen far away from the action.
- Sometimes the NPC text would be cut off by the end of the screen
Keep working on it!
Wow, a shooty game I can play on my laptop without having to plug in a mouse! :D Hoorah!
This is super cute and fun. :) You could definitely expand it into something awesome!
The audio didn't load for me so I put the music on loop in an external player and I'm glad I did because it's amazing.
I was singing along while gunning down cubemen.
I like Descension alot.

I love voxel graphics :D
I killed everything on the first level, but nothing happened afterwards?
When you kill the boss, a hole should appear in the ground into which you can jump to advance to the next level.
I can't run the game. Is there additional libraries or stuff required?
all the libraries you need are included. What platform are you running on, and what error are you getting?
