Good game :)
Okay... so.
The Good - the music was well done, You made alot of feeling with just a few notes and midi.
The Bad - Gameplay. This really wasnt verry fun. It was painfully easy despite there being moments when I took damage due to no real fault of my own.
The Ugly - when you get near the treasure, a new song starts playing, but there is no fade, and the old one keeps playing, so you end up with two simultaneous soundtracks that are totally out of synch with eachother. I like dissonance when its done well, but that was just annoying.
I didn't like being taken back to the main menu after each level, I think it would have been better to put a save option on the end-of-level dialog. I liked the red-herring paths in the levels.
This could be a really nice game if it weren't for a few annoying thing:
Diving off the left side is instant Game Over with all progress gone. Not nice.
Also, why don't you put the player back in the level select screen after finished a stage?
Very cool game. Good island music too.
Not a bad little platformer, though I found myself getting kind of frustrated trying to get past some of the enemies. I liked the use of water 'platforms' in the last level.
RAD MUSIC! But BRUTALLY unforgiving when you die unless you save. Those little green circle-y bastards are EVIL.
I died in place I didn't even realize I was in danger! Good music.
Fun little platformer. Might be some of the most annoying MIDI patches known to mankind, but I can't deny that they go with the island theme. :) I like the graphics a lot. Having the coin-get sound be a little tone, but which doesn't go with the music, makes me kinda not want to get the coins. How come when I die, I have to start over from the beginning, even though I can save and then load as many times as I want to continue? It should probably just be saving for me every time I beat a level. In the last level, you can jump up through the green globes for a very short path to the end.
Hi-score 173
I really liked the graphics and audio in this; the gameplay was pretty fun, too, though the damage was a bit heavy. If you were to spruce up the 'sand' graphic to be more in keeping with the other graphics, it'd be even better. Overall, a very nice feel to it.
