The house took too long to build.
ImportError: No module named pyglet
A pretty basic game. The house looks really weird. Also, have you ever seen a house built roof first? ;-)
Pretty simple, but nice job learning a new thing this weekend! :) The house got built way too slowly and sometimes the blocks fell down in unfair patterns. Also the background and the rest of the graphics didn't really match together, necessarily.
win .exe build plz
Need an exe
I spent a lot of time waiting, which wasn't fun. The life and score font color made it hard to read (white on white). Try blitting a black copy of the text first with a few pixels' offset in order to provide some relief. I did like the airplane occasionally flying by =)
That latest exe finally worked, so that's good. I wasn't able to get too far. I got a bit of the roof built but kept dieing too easily because of unfair falling piece combos there was no way to catch. Also, the life counter seems hidden behind a white cloud.. ;) Got to around 900 points or so. Agree with others that it is way too slow to play / wait currently. Thought the construction worker was quite a character to watch and I liked the plane graphic. Also, couldn't really tell what I was catching.. :)
Wow, lots and lots and loooots of waiting around. And then when you do catch a piece, you get 1 pixel of house. Looks like you need to catch 200 pieces to win. Given an average wait time of about 5 seconds, that's 1000 seconds or 16:40. Are you trying to claim you've actually played your own game to completion? I don't buy it. 16 minutes of waiting for those pieces! And very occasionally, two pieces fall at the same time, too far apart to catch both, so guaranteed death. Does it happen enough that you won't ever be able to finish? Quite possibly!
Speed the game up a few hundredfold, and we're talking!
I got it to work after uninstalling pyglet and installing the cutting edge release. If you aren't going to use a stable library build, you should include the source. Also - scariest looking construction worker ever.
"You need to collect bookcases, walls and random items hidden inside an aeroplane." - wtf is up with that? Renders you a high score in humor at any rate, from sheer weirdness :P
Gameplay is extremely simple, and it's annoying that you keep sliding left and right unless you press a key to stop. Would have been nice to catch key-up events for that.
Graphics are... gradienty. At least the protagonist has trendy pants.
I'm ashamed to say that I didn't finish building my house, quit somewhere around a score of 2000 I think. Didn't see much more than a brown triangle which I presume is the roof. I guess some more feedback on your progress early on would have helped there. Gaining a very predictable brown row of pixels for each cow-patterned square you catch isn't going to keep people's attention for very long.
More action, challenge and reward would have improved this one. Like maybe falling things to avoid from time to time, and bonus items that are particularly good to catch.
The game doesn't get much harder as you progress and the game often leaves you waiting for more blocks to fall. If one looses, it's not because of lack of skill, just that the blocks fell in an impossible manner :)
Catching random stuff is quite a strange way to build a house, higher humor score :)
