| Oct 22 07:22:35 | Game & Roots Two-Flavor | ♥ 1 | For someone who played those hand-held games in the 80's, this felt really authentic – in good and bad. 😄 Perhaps more responsive than the actual devices, but I consider that a plus. I played both of them – and as others have said, managing to make two games in one jam is pretty awesome – and everything worked nicely. At first they seem too slow, but then you have to really put in an effort when the pace picks up. So, again, just like in the real deal. Really nice entry! | |
| Oct 22 08:34:10 | 1h 11m | Kaputnik | ♥ 2 | On my first try the computer kept complaining I had no navigational data, but I must have stopped by recharging batteries after getting the data before going to the console, as I later learned that the data is only available for quite a limited time. On my second attempt I made it back home, so it really wasn't too hard once you got a hang of the different elements of the game. Still quite chaotic, though. 😄 I really liked the humor and the music, and I think the intro zooming into the vessel was a nice touch, giving a good first impression. Nice entry! |
| Oct 22 11:57:42 | 3h 23m | fishGrinder | ♥ 0 | Great atmosphere, and solid technical effort! I'm definitely not very good at it, but the intense feel kept pushing me forward. I really like the combination of tasks and mechanics, and they fit the theme nicely. Great entry! |
| Oct 23 08:52:57 | 20h 55m | The little bot who could... SAVE THE WORLD! | ♥ 1 | Nice entry! My main gripes were the same issues already mentioned here already, i.e. the browser going on its knees under the 3D load, and the suddenly switching camera angles and the controls, or most likely their combination. OTOH the switching angles felt like a crucial part of the experience, so I hope whatever approach you may take to the controls in a post-jam build will keep those in some way. All in all, I think you got a lot done in such a short time, with the different enemy types and level design etc.! |
| Oct 24 14:26:20 | 29h 33m | Seva | ♥ 1 | Nice entry with lots of content/features for a jam game! I liked the drill controls and the gathering logic, and everything worked nicely and without glitches. I forgot some of the controls while playing, so I thought I'd need to use the mouse when selecting the upgrades (as I forgot about the arrow keys and just tried the WASD controls there also). Also, I think the main menu only works with the mouse? Really just a nitpick, but if the same controls worked for everything, that could be a minor usability improvement. |
| Oct 24 14:51:41 | 25m 21s | Rail Mania | ♥ 1 | Really nice! My only issues with the game were things already mentioned here, i.e. the speed (once you know what to do already) and the controls feeling a bit weird in the beginning (i.e. which cars to leave behind etc.). But it didn't take long to understand the control logic, and after that it was really enjoyable. I love to see puzzle games in jams, as I know level/puzzle design can be really time-consuming, and you've done a great job at it! A really stellar entry! |
| Oct 24 15:08:51 | 17m 10s | My Little Robot | ♥ 0 | I also suffered from the sensitivity (but then again, my mouse is set to max speed...) but as the enemies were really not hard, it wasn't too annoying. I also first missed that I was supposed to press a button on the wall to open a door, but then got the interaction text when I went close enough, so didn't end up spending that much time going around. Naturally, quite a small level and easy and quick to beat, but that actually felt pretty nice when playing through many games in the jam, some of them quite long. 🙂 There were some moments when my shots didn't do anything to the boxes but most of the time they did, and that was the only issue I faced, so otherwise everything worked fine. |
| Oct 24 15:57:50 | 48m 59s | Colduko | ♥ 0 | Thanks _Ueighti_ for sharing the controls, I was struggling with those a lot playing in a browser. Once I got the hang of those and the idea, it was pretty fun! Sometimes some of the color indicators on the left went gray, I'm guessing that was a glitch and intended? Anyway, with the "cursor" showing the color in the grid it wasn't a big issue. Nice entry! And it's really cool you made it for Gameboy, even if I don't have one! |
| Oct 24 16:16:51 | 19m 01s | Water Reel Eef | ♥ 1 | Nice entry! At first I thought there wouldn't be much challenge, but then I learned how quickly the pipes start leaking. I feel like I should get in touch with the factory making these things, their lifetime really isn't impressive... It went from nice building exercise to putting out fires fast. I guess I hit the bug the instruction warned about when I tried to replace a leaking pipe, but I couldn't avoid it as there weren't any parts that weren't leaking left. 😄 Anyway, I had fun! |
| Oct 25 07:14:16 | 14h 57m | Orpheus 0600 | ♥ 0 | I pretty much agree with everything said here. The mood is really something! I was playing the game in a browser, and it was a bit jaggy at first, especially in full screen mode but then worked ok. I also had some trouble understanding what to do after the injections, but managed to get a bit further. |
| Oct 25 13:12:11 | 5h 57m | The Abacus: Hellraiser | ♥ 0 | This was really cool! To say the game mechanic is original (to me) is an understatement – it was really something unique. And the implementation was also solid all around. I wasn't any good at playing it, but I really enjoyed trying it anyway. 😄 (Well, I did beat it on easy.) The only improvement suggestion I can think of is having keyboard input to move the beads also. I watched the tutorial but still kept trying to add and subtract them with A and D, as the selection with W and S worked... Also, it took quite some time to get the game running in the browser, but I understand that just happens with 3D games sometimes (depending on one's machine). |
