Oct 26 03:39:06 Roadworthy(ish) ♥ 0 Cool idea! This has potential to be a really relaxing and fun experience. I have several suggestions: * Have a consistent way to get "back" - some screens used the edge of the screen (not consistent which side), others have no visible way to get out (escape closes full screen and also closes what's on your screen, sometimes), others have a visible "back" button. * Make it more clear what can be interacted with vs what can't - even when things are interactive (e.g. tape rewind, window rolldown), and make it more clear how close you are to "done" * The 5 minute time limit honestly seems unnecessary - I hit it twice, both times when trying to figure out the last thing on the list, and it didn't add anything to the experience * Tone down or skip the CRT effect - a more subtle version could be a good default, but this is way too much * (minor) make the shifter moves the opposite way the mouse does, for maximum tactile effect I did really like the art, and having driven an old hatchback as my first car, the nostalgia is real.
Oct 26 04:22:16 43m 10s Light Seeker ♥ 2 Wow! This is great. The graphical style and subtle music, as well as tasteful sound effects, really set the mood, but it's the gameplay that blew me away. One of the most fun LD games I've played (for my own particular taste anyways). Really fun mixing and matching the parts to build a little contraption, and the puzzles were just tough enough to make me scratch my head without getting too frustrated. My only suggestion would be to make the world a bit bigger to explore - I wanted to keep going after getting all of the parts, and never had to utilize certain combinations.
Oct 27 02:50:04 22h 27m Decom Protocol ♥ 3 Very interesting environmental storytelling! I like the aesthetic, gritty textures and unnerving music. Unfortunately I couldn't make it all the way to the end, as the camera fov / spinning around / having to look back and forth at the buttons gave me motion sickness, but I got a good feel for where it was going - definitely not what I signed up for when I took this job!
Oct 27 03:07:53 17m 49s Balkan Hunter 2002 ♥ 0 I don't think hunting in the Balkans is quite like what I'm used to in the US... This was fun, I really liked the feedback of getting a hit and the continually increasing pitch of the streak multiplier. I did run into a bug on a few of the levels where my health randomly ticked down? EDIT: read the other comments, and realized I also forgot to turn xD Definitely reminds me of the old "Big Buck Hunter" arcade games!
Oct 27 04:10:29 1h 02m When the Skies Were Young ♥ 1 Really really nice job for a solo project. You nailed the controls, it not only felt realistic but also really forgiving. That said, I'm terrible at both flying and navigating, after way too long of playing I wasn't able to make it to a third town. I might give it another try later, cause it was really fun. A couple smalls suggestions: * Add the ability to get in and out of the plane multiple times * Add the option to use a controller, for those of us that struggle to multi task with looking around and controlling the plane on the same scheme * Flatten the terrain a bit near the first few towns - as an inexperienced pilot I really struggled with the altitude
Oct 29 01:34:14 45h 23m Proper Cannoning ♥ 0 Obviously some room for improvement, but I think this has potential. The canon physics feel pretty good, and the fact that the terrain is destructible is pretty cool. I did run into similar issues as others: the enemies getting stuck on the terrain, and then having to spend 10 minutes to try to clear them out. Turning that into a feature might be interesting - have the enemies die if they don't reach you in a certain amount of time, and breaking up the terrain to slow them down. I think you could probably speed up the enemies as well, to make it a bit more hectic.
Oct 29 02:35:58 1h 01m A Portal Home ♥ 0 The game looks really nice! A little dark - couldn't see into most of the corners. Maybe intentional, and didn't affect the gameplay at all as there wasn't anything important there. The music is catchy, I was expecting the cassettes to play different music, or at least recorded audio - kind of funny the whole bit was cassettes, but it was just text. I struggled with the mechanics a bit, I'm still not sure what button did what on the stereo, I just clicked around until things happened. Some more feedback would be helpful.
