Oct 13 19:03:53 Tiny Ducks ♥ 1 Really polished game. Love the sprites, the cards, sound effects and music. But what impressed me most was the balance. I managed to get hold of the bread on my first attempt, but it was very close. You did a great job!
Oct 13 19:11:14 7m 21s Innocenties Beasties ♥ 1 Funny game. Love the idea! Starts easy and gets hard really fast. Did not get past 40s. The sprites are great. Good job!
Oct 13 19:15:32 4m 18s Juicy Little Morsels ♥ 3 Great music, sounds and animations. The gameplay is nice and you ramp up the difficulty slowly which I enjoyed a lot. Well done!
Oct 15 19:07:21 47h 51m The Guardian ♥ 3 Wow, really impressive! Already fell in love with the game at the title screen! The music is phenomenal and I enjoyed the animations throughout the game. You really nailed the game feel. 👍 Without any hints whatsoever I felt a bit lost, but I think I managed to bring the small creatures to their final destination. Well done!
Oct 15 21:01:30 1h 54m Ant war! ♥ 1 I like the concept and how you introduce more and more mechanics up to level 5. Really cool! But the jump from level 5 to Free Play feels huge. First I thought, I'm clever and just transition through the level like this: ``` (mind, sense) => { if (mind == undefined) { mind = ["up", 0]; for (var i = 0; i < sense.stop.friends.length; i++) { sense.stop.friends[i] = ["up", (i+1) * 2]; } } let dir = mind[0]; if (mind[1] > 0) { mind[1] -= 1; return [dir, true, mind]; } if (dir == "up") { dir = "right"; } else { dir = "up"; mind[1] = 1; } mind[0] = dir; return [dir, true, mind]; } ``` But that doesn't work, because you actually need to pickup food and bring it back to the base to increase your ant army! So after lots of trial and error, I managed to come up with this: ``` (mind, sense) => { if (mind == undefined) { mind = [false, 0, 0]; for (var i = 0; i < sense.stop.friends.length; i++) { if (sense.stop.friends[i] == undefined) { sense.stop.friends[i] = [false, 0, 0]; } } } let dir = ''; if (mind[0] == true) { if (mind[1] == 0 && mind[2] == 0) { mind[0] = false; } else if (mind[1] > 0) { dir = 'left'; mind[1] -= 1; } else if (mind[1] < 0) { dir = 'right'; mind[1] += 1; } else if (mind[2] > 0) { dir = 'down'; mind[2] -= 1; } else if (mind[2] < 0) { dir = 'up'; mind[2] += 1; } } if (dir == '') { if (sense.up.enemies > 0) { dir = 'up'; mind[2] += 1; } else if (sense.down.enemies > 0) { dir = 'down'; mind[2] -= 1; } else if (sense.left.enemies > 0) { dir = 'left'; mind[1] -= 1; } else if (sense.right.enemies > 0) { dir = 'right'; mind[1] += 1; } else if (sense.up.food > 0) { dir = 'up'; mind[0] = true; mind[2] += 1; } else if (sense.down.food > 0) { dir = 'down'; mind[0] = true; mind[2] -= 1; } else if (sense.left.food > 0) { dir = 'left'; mind[0] = true; mind[1] -= 1; } else if (sense.right.food > 0) { dir = 'right'; mind[0] = true; mind[1] += 1; } else { let rnd = Math.random(); if (rnd < 0.25) { dir = 'up'; mind[2] += 1; } else if (rnd < 0.5) { dir = 'right'; mind[1] += 1; } else if (rnd < 0.75) { dir = 'down'; mind[2] -= 1; } else { dir = 'left'; mind[1] -= 1; } } } return [dir, true, mind]; } ``` The mind store 3 components in an array: * mind[0] is a bool, which says if the ant currently has food * mind[1] contains the x-offset to base (right of base is positive) * mind[2] contains the y-offset to base (up of base is positive) As soon as the ant finds some food it will return to the base immediately. It takes ages to run the simulation, but I think, that the algorithm should work quite well in the long run. Here's how my army looks like after 5 minutes in "mostly random" mode: Ant.png But maybe there are other tricks to optimize it? Anyway... Had lots of fun!
Oct 18 19:46:43 70h 45m Blu ♥ 1 I like the space background, the stuff flying around and the blocky, colorful characters. Looks interesting. Did not really understand the gameplay. But good job making it work!
Oct 18 19:56:39 9m 56s Planet Maxim ♥ 1 Great funny game! Really, the best intro ever 👍 Love the simple gameplay, the music and sound effects. Well done!
Oct 18 20:13:23 16m 44s Jellyfish climb up ♥ 1 Really nice and simple gameplay with physics mixed in. 👍 I like the jelly fish and that it sometimes talks to you! I'm very impressed by the amount and quality of music you put it. Any hints, how you did that? Would be a real banger of a game with sound effect and maybe a few more mechanics. Still I enjoyed it, good job!
Oct 18 20:23:11 9m 48s Planktos ♥ 1 Worked well when I finally realized that you need to keep pressing space to go left. Was smooth sailing afterwards. Nice backgrounds and calming music. Love the lighting and the small particles in the water. Was also happy to make it to the end. ❤️
Oct 18 20:45:37 22m 26s Tiny Creature Support Group ♥ 1 You're the man for making a game in 3MB! Also every console app should have awesome music like this! Just think about it! Linux would be a joy to use! I'm bad at such word games, but even me ilitrate dumbo made it to the end of the game loop, so kudos to great balancing! Well done and cheers!
Oct 18 21:01:41 16m 04s Antonio ♥ 2 I love the atmosphere! The short view distance, the wind and gnawing sounds are terrifying! Well done! I really felt the terror running away from a bunch of superhuman ants! It's a bit too difficult, the dungeon is far too large and you can easily get cornered, but the experience is great. Well done!
Oct 18 21:32:40 30m 59s Tiny Hawk Pro-Skater ♥ 4 Wow, really polished skater game! Took me a short while to figure out the controls and getting used to the quick time events, but then it felt great skating around the various levels. The animations of Tiny Hawk are really well done. I'm impressed by the amount of content you we're able to pack into this game! The various levels, the stories on the cassettes and the collectibles are awesome. That was my score at the end: Tinyhawk.jpg No idea, if that's good or bad, but I had lots of fun. Thanks for the game!
Oct 18 21:48:24 15m 44s It Ant possible ♥ 1 Game worked fine! I like how the ants move and stick to the ground. And you did a great job on the UI 👍 I think level 6 really feels like a lemmings level, where you have to combine all 3 abilities to reach the goal. Level 8 is a head-scratcher, but I'm glad that I was able to reach the goal with one ant alive after a few tries. Good job!
Oct 18 22:00:10 11m 46s White Blood Shells ♥ 2 Very good doom-like shooter! Great old school graphics. I love the dithering and the bobbing of the weapon. The controls are simple but effective. The enemies are dumb, but fun to fight in small arenas. I also like the sound effects and progression. Well done!
