Oct 6 03:10:58 Disturbed Void ♥ 3 A fun concept~ I like all of the art and the randomized spawns of various things in the game (portals, essence, etc)
Oct 6 03:15:31 4m 33s BlockBuster ♥ 1 Great interpretation of the theme! I like how it incorporates the multiplayer and both actions of trying to keep your blocks stable while destabilizing others. Covers both bases on how to use instability as a mechanic.
Oct 6 03:22:16 6m 45s Magic Knight Out!!! ♥ 4 Love the graphics!! Super unique way to make a lot of images, scenes and characters with the LD timeframe. Super innovative XD Very fun and funny style overall.
Oct 6 03:27:46 5m 30s Crystal Town ♥ 2 Wow!! This looks fantastic for you guy’s first game! Congratulations! I can see you used good techniques with the art like re-coloring the same sprites to fill up the environment and still keep the look fresh. I can relate to being amazed at your art being implemented into a game for the first time ~ I’ve participated as an artist in Ludum Dare twice and those are the only two games I’ve ever worked on XD It still is so cool seeing everything come to life in a world u can play and share with other people. Great job!
Oct 13 02:19:15 166h 51m Chimp Chef's Dastardly Onion Adventure ♥ 1 Really interesting premise lolll I loved the gordon ramsey chimp in the beginning. The intensity of being chased is also quite an experience XD I think thats because a good use of ost and effects to make the moment more scary. Overall funky experience! I really wonder where the idea came from loll
Oct 13 02:37:04 17m 49s Polypharmacy ♥ 1 Game looks great and seems to play very well! I thought the mechanic of switching moods, as well as using instability on purpose as a mechanic that solves puzzles (instead of just avoiding instability) was very cool! The graphics are simple and uniform in a way that shows good planning, since everything needed for the game to look complete is there~ I think the animations being mainly squish/stretch/transforms of existing sprites was also a good way to save time while also giving a good input feeling to player actions. Great submission!
Oct 13 02:42:44 5m 40s Treacherous Tower ♥ 0 Really cool game! I think this is a good example of a game that takes the theme to heart and runs with it! The graphics and audio are effective with a uniform style. Small details like the font choices, and the way each round is scored is visually satisfying. The addition of particle effects on the space ship is nice, adding movement while not being distracting to the gameplay. Really awesome and polished especially for a compo game! Great job!
Oct 13 02:53:39 10m 55s Hammer Keep ♥ 1 Really cool style! I like how its a very simple environment, sprites and even UI in a 2.5D space. The use of different colors for different enemies is great for this style, where you have to make quick decisions and judgements. That way when an enemy spawns, you can instantly see what kinds of strategy you need to take to defeat them. Your take on the theme, using both sides of being stable or unstable as a mechanic, is very creative in this sense. Really cool entry!
Oct 13 03:26:16 32m 37s ReSTARTeD ♥ 0 I think the concept you have is very cool! You managed to make a very complete entry despite the difficulties~ I really liked how you had different art and environments for each level! Also very sweet you two can work together as a team~ I’ve been doing the last two Dare’s with my boyfriend. Best of luck for your next entries!
Oct 13 03:33:36 7m 20s Emotion Vessels ♥ 0 Hi! Very cute game and premise. I like the intro and how the theme and story are introduced. The watercolor style and textures are nice, would have loved to see more of that during gameplay moments. You could make cloudy particles in the background for example, or an aura that emanates from boxes or the mc depending on where their stability is. The music is nice! Very calm and atmospheric choices there. Really felt the inner world / dreamlike vibe.
Oct 13 03:42:10 8m 34s BiblioMania ♥ 3 Wow, I love the art and vibes of the game! Its a fun location (magic library) with interesting little details in a lot of places. I found the designs for the different book shelves really pretty, and the characters are cute and unique. Couldn’t help but wonder what some of these crazy books were that the readers were borrowing and returning XD some look very sinister. I could easily see this expanded with some more world building and levels that increase in complexity.
Oct 13 03:58:21 16m 11s Unbound ♥ 0 Hi! Great work for doing everything on your own from the art, to the music and programming / design. I think that being able to create something with a complete scenario, even if brief, is a job well done. Definitely you can use this experience to better understand how to budget your time between different tasks (the same happened to my team on our first dare! We tried to make a complex platformer and I just spent the whole time animating the mc—). I think if you want to make a platformer with a number of actions that require animations, its probably best to go with a smaller pixel resolution and a smaller character design. Something with “chibi” proportion for example (ex. Shovel Knight) would probably be much easier to manage so you can focus on other things in your game~ For the background and level platforms, it may also be good to create assets that are modular, so you can copy/paste and create a more complex level if you needed, without having to draw it all by hand. (Though, the hand-drawn aspects are also interesting. For other bigger projects, I would suggest experimenting with using modular elements where you can, and hand drawing areas that are important or unique). Best of luck for your next projects!
Oct 13 04:09:45 11m 24s Road to joy ♥ 1 I think this is one of my favorite games this jam, for the super creative theme and lovely integration of music. The narrative here is very concise, and I was actually both surprised and emotionally impacted. I love when mechanics tell a story- something unique to the video game medium. Super impressed that you did everything here on your own~ I look forward to seeing more entries from you!
