Apr 27 18:27:47 Rock Monster ♥ 1 Fits together in a very satisfying way! All the mechanics make sense in a way that doesn't need any tutorial text, which I really like. In addition, the audio effects and particle effects are very crunchy, and it makes for a good game feel. The default-font starting text doesn't do the rest of the game justice, it's very polished overall. Fun game!
Apr 27 20:26:46 1h 58m A Dank Room ♥ 1 A dark room! I'm impressed with how the game unfolds, it's fun to play and you guys have done a great job building on the theme. The wavering brightness of the tiles of the map under the torch was a nice touch. (I also found the same torch exploit as @Kaabiikaze, haha - good to hear that's been spotted!)
Apr 27 21:02:30 35m 44s Sinking Deeper ♥ 1 You've created a very immersive atmosphere, especially with the breathing (which is playing in the background as I write!) and the way the sinking submarine guides you deeper and deeper. The hitbox on the Small Purple seems to be a little odd; from one angle it is offset a little? I agree with what others have said, it would be very helpful to edit the description of the game, because I spent a bit of time chasing bubbles which was quite silly. These points aren't too significant though! It was a great experience overall.
Apr 27 21:53:27 50m 57s Descendants ♥ 2 This game is immensely cool. The levels feel massive, and they make very good use of all that space. I really enjoyed it! Atmosphere and art is fantastic - the world feels very lived-in and real (it would certainly fit in the Hobbit). Plus, the sparkling veins of gold are a great feature to have - I always appreciate hiding collectibles in games, just out of the reach of the path. Would it be possible to display a range circle for archers, when the Light-bearer's ability is used? I wouldn't want to add unnecessary clutter to the UI, but it could be useful to mark out good spots to set up the Archer's attacks.
Apr 28 18:40:34 20h 47m Crown of the Mountain King ♥ 1 Surprised to see a submission for the ZX Spectrum - that's very impressive work. In my opinion the trade-off between graphics and smooth movement was worth it. Very creative entry with a neat mechanic, I enjoyed it!
May 1 10:40:42 64h 00m Congratulations, Debt! ♥ 1 This is great! I love the cheesy tunes that accompany you falling irreversibly into debt :D Very fun concept, hope you can fix the mouse sensitivity issue.
May 3 13:29:16 50h 48m Deep Space ♥ 1 A spaceship that can eat things? Wonderful! I really like this game because of the fun mechanic, and the art/animations are very polished. Although, the time window in which you can eat projectiles seems quite small. Initially I was trying to run into rockets while the mouth was still opening, and it felt a bit inconsistent. I suggest you could make the ship flash when it is ready to eat projectiles, to make it clearer. Screenshot_Deep-Space.png The satellites seem to stop spawning in the second level ^
May 3 17:56:50 4h 27m Deep Resource ♥ 1 Nice work! I enjoyed playing. Though the game mechanics are quite simple, it's quite polished for a compo submission, and the "score" from not taking the friendly fish out is a neat dynamic. The music is a bit quirky, but I think it fits pretty well and is a cool addition. On the other hand, the camera follows a bit too far behind the player. It's a nice effect, but it's quite hard to see what's ahead (also, the game's resolution is larger than my screen, so I couldn't see anything below me).
May 12 15:40:30 213h 43m HELLEVATORS ♥ 0 That was really fun! I enjoyed multitasking and the difficulty is well balanced, so it was very engaging. Feels more polished because of the sound effects and the screen shake after an elevator drops. One thing I would like is for the souls to contrast more against the background. I sometimes missed ones that spawned against the brighter earth texture. Good game :)
May 12 16:53:02 1h 12m CubeMiner ♥ 1 Very neat game. Generating such a large-scale world is very impressive for a compo entry! As others have mentioned, outlines would improve the experience a lot, but I understand the time limit (and Unity troubles). P.S. If you go back to make changes, you should round shop prices up in the display, so it doesn't look like the player can buy something if they have fractionally less! It's not an issue as it is though :)
