| Apr 21 12:49:36 | Feederz | ♥ 1 | It took me some time to understand what to do, you may add a short line in the intro to explain the goal. Also it feels a bit long. I died right after the third stage of the pet because the animation speed didn't let me the time to feed it. Maybe i'm still missing something. The audio tracks you chose for the music are perfectly fitting the atmosphere. Overall I did not like the game that much because I felt completely lost and didn't know what to do except waiting ang looking around. | |
| Apr 21 15:51:37 | 3h 02m | Flower Protector | ♥ 1 | Wow really cute game here! I really like the art and the music. However the UI does not really fit the style. Maybe not enough time to work on it ? In the tutorial there is a word missing at the end of the first page ("mouse" i guess). By the way I like the idea of an interactive tutorial, it really helps getting into the game and understand the rules. Overall I really enjoyed it great job ;) |
| Apr 21 16:38:20 | 46m 43s | Keep the Dumb Rabbits Alive ! | ♥ 0 | I don't know if I should tell your game is cute or gore, poor rabbits :( Amazing pixel art, the music is kept simple but it does the job and it fits the ambience. The idea is great. Maybe you could add another way to go to the next day ? I found it really boring to go back and forth across the map... The pace is pretty slow so adding an other way to control the population could be really great. What about choosing or not to feed them by dropping food on the ground ? Good job anyways :) |
| Apr 21 18:33:22 | 1h 55m | Computer Rat | ♥ 2 | It took me some time to understand the mechanics, even with the tutorial. As i am colourblind I have trouble at recognizing yellow and green. The level that introduces the - sign just blocked me for a while since i was trying to find a way to generate purple (or pink idk) with the wrong colour. I would have preferred if colours were replaced with good old numbers, but i guess it would be less apealing. To finish on a good note i think it was quite a good idea to introduce operations with the stack in this kind of game, and the tutorial introduced the main rules quite well. (I would enjoy it more if the green was darker) |
| Apr 21 19:44:26 | 1h 11m | Heartbreaking | ♥ 1 | It's exactly the kind of game mechanics i usually like playing with, but i don't really like this one. I think it could be awesome if the heart had an other purpose than just making me restart the game. For the audio, the "heartbreaking" and "prshhh" made me laugh at first, but in the end it drove me mad and i ragequit mostly because of it. The game isn't bad but the mechanic has a lot more potential and you did not make use of it, that's too bad. Anyways good job for not giving up the jam and hope to see your mechanic evolve in a future game :) |
| Apr 21 20:06:40 | 22m 14s | PRECURSOR | ♥ 1 | Not the first game i play with the mouse as a character but this one is the first that reminds me of good old platformers with its difficulty. Idk if it was a bug or if it was intended but the mouse felt "heavy", with some kind of lag, which made the experience slightly less great. Keeping the graphics simple was a great idea to help the player focus on the path. Level design is great but i would have changed the order of some levels to smooth the difficulty curve. Also maybe add more checkpoints could be one way to improve the game. Great entry though ! |
| Apr 21 20:31:03 | 24m 23s | Goblympic Games | ♥ 2 | Same remark as @snowirbis, at least changing for arrow keys would be great. The random map generation is a good idea since it makes every game different, but i find that it has a too strong impact on the progression. Sometimes I spawn right next to a room full of fuel and i can almost skip the level instantly, and sometimes I can travel almost the entire maps before finding the first fuel. If you fix it the gameplay would be much better. The game lacks animations and maybe the visuals are too abstract. The music fits your olympic stuff great but at some point I muted my speaker because it was just too repetitive and too high-pitched. Nice entry anyways and great job ! |
| Apr 22 06:09:44 | 9h 38m | Solais | ♥ 1 | Really love the game ! I felt like playing Celeste, but nor the pico8 version, the commercial one. I love the palette and the lighting effect. Might have a look at your code to get inspired ^^ really great job :D |
| Apr 22 09:00:45 | 2h 51m | Joe Disco | ♥ 3 | Disco! I like it! Comments like "He calls that dancing" etc are really funny. The music and the and character design are really cool too, great job :) |
| Apr 22 09:18:35 | 17m 50s | Keep The Party Alive | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed the music and graphics, however it often happens that i can't jump or i can't go upstairs anymore, sometimes I also clip through the floor and i'm stuck. I can't really give a feedback for the gameplay since all these little bugs ruined the experience :/ If you release an update fixing these I'll be happy to try it out again ! The idea seems great anyways ! |
| Apr 22 09:48:15 | 29m 40s | How to Air | ♥ 2 | Great game, the black and white handdrawn art style is cute. the game is a bit short and some hitboxes a bit too small (I was blocked for 5 minutes at the end just because I did not drag the object at the exact spot (i'm not telling the exact moment because I don't want to spoil). Great job on this one :) |
| Apr 22 10:16:52 | 28m 37s | donĀ“t kill the baby(2 player) | ♥ 1 | Could have been funnier. You definitly put some effort in the pixel art and the graphics. The audio is great. Maybe there could have been more game mechanics, because the game feels a bit "empty". Maybe some kind of power up or debuff ? One thing that made me laugh is the baby spinning crazy. It really feels like it is one of your first games, but for a starting point it is not bad at all. I hope you learned a lot making this game and I want to see your progress with your next games :) |
| Apr 22 10:43:31 | 26m 39s | Botanico | ♥ 1 | Really fun game here. I really like the art direction and the animations of the arms. The only regret I have is that the map feels empty. The multi-kill text is a great idea and pushes me to try making combos. The game feels juicy. Great job guys :) |
| Apr 22 11:22:57 | 39m 26s | Social Distancing For LadyBugs | ♥ 1 | The game is kept simple but it does the job. I wish it was a bit less repetitive. Keep doing jams you'll get better and better :) |
| Apr 22 11:37:42 | 14m 45s | Shadoweight: A Moguel tale | ♥ 3 | Very intense game. I constantly felt overwhelmed by the monters, and had to rush across the different floors in order to protect the guy. The pixel art is nice but you should be more consistent for the resolutions of your sprites. The audio and the music fit perfectly your game. Great job ! |
| Apr 22 11:56:43 | 19m 01s | Sh'bolga: The Sprawling Terror, Devourer of Souls | ♥ 3 | Your game reminds me Daedra princes quests in TESV ! Shbolga has a nice model and textures and the background looks nice. However the rest of the visuals were a bit too simple in comparison, which makes a huge contrast and make the game look weird. I really enjoyed talking to the npc's and it adds some lore to the game. Cool entry ;) |
| Apr 22 12:27:08 | 30m 25s | Bubbles Saves Grandma | ♥ 1 | Cool game ! Your game has a really unique look, mixing pixel art and low-poly 3D I love it :D The game is a bit hard, and I wish Bubbles could take a step back to jump further, instead of having to do a 180 degrees turn each time. It is also really fun to mess around with the props and make everything fall. The level design is not perfect but it's great, maybe with smoother controls it would feel better. Also the UI and music remind me old black and white movies, a perfect fit for Grandma! Great job guys ;) |
| Apr 24 08:51:38 | 44h 24m | Fade of Life | ♥ 1 | Wooooow the transparent window is soooo cool i love it really :D <3 All the screen effects are really cool ! The music is really intense, and everything fits perfectly together :) Only regret is the terrain looks a bit flat. I really love your entry good job :D |
