| Oct 7 11:30:45 | Planet Jumpers | ♥ 1 | Pretty cool :) I like that your maps are procedural. I think you need a test in place to check that there are resources around the crash site, or the player will die a few times on the first crash site (like I did) because there's no resources within range. It would also be nice to be able to jump back in the ship to get a refill of oxygen. I really like the re-entry effects as well, when you hit a planet with an atmosphere, you have reentry, but when you hit a planet without atmosphere there's no re-entry effect. A nice little touch (I only saw it was missing on the first crash though, so not sure it it's truely as I saw it to be) I finally got shot out of the air by the alien, it would be nice if I could outrun them, or accelerate away from them. I found the only effective defence to be a hard spin which would throw the missiles off because they can't turn as hard as I could. Overall, pretty cool game, nice idea, seems pretty solid too. Well done. | |
| Oct 7 11:33:23 | 2m 38s | Regulus | ♥ 0 | @quentin-wittevrongel or @julien-darras Any chance of a Mac or HTML version? I like the look of the game, but don't have a windows machine to try it out on. |
| Oct 7 11:42:15 | 8m 52s | ROBOT WARS | ♥ 1 | Pretty cool game. I really like the music, and thats kinds rare in games, but the music that you have in the background is really nice. I kinda wish there was an explanation about the different kinds of units, I think the diamond head guys are faster? I couldn't figure out the attacking though, when I told them to attack nearest they didn't seem to do anything except stop following me. When I dragged a group of enemy units into my crowd, a bunch of my guys and all of the enemy just exploded and wiped out half my team... Still, the game was solid, it ran quickly and was responsive. I like the idea. Well done. |
| Oct 7 11:45:36 | 3m 21s | An Empty Way | ♥ 1 | Hey @douglas-asted Any chance of a Mac or Web version? I would like to give it a try, but don't have a Windows PC. I totally understand your frustration with the storyline in such a short time. My game suffered the same. I have a very very very lame story, but hopefully solid mechanics. |
| Oct 7 11:54:33 | 8m 57s | Enter the Abyss | ♥ 2 | @guitarbro That was pretty cool! Loved the smokey mist you have going on, that's pretty awesome and I would love to know how you did it. The attack animation for the slimes was epic the first time one hit me, really aggressive look on the attack, very nice. Sound was ok, I think having multiple attack sounds or multiple creature "grarr" sounds make for a much nicer audio experience, so that' the only thing I would have spent a little more time on. Overall the games really good, mood wise you're getting high points, the whole creepy atmosphere really works! Well done. |
| Oct 7 11:58:51 | 4m 18s | The Life Of A Game Developer The Game | ♥ 0 | @superrubbingglue I'm not sure your deployment works, it's offering a download not a game on a website. Not sure if thats you intention, but you should change the download type if you're intending that this is a download. Since I'm on mobile internet (expensive) I wanted to check if this would play on a web browser (or mac) before downloading it, because if it downloads and it's a windows game I'll be disappointed and have spent MB's on something I can't use etc. |
| Oct 7 11:59:38 | 47s | Space Anomalies! | ♥ 0 | @jeffalot Any chance of a Mac version or a Web version? I would love to give it a try but only have a Mac or Chrome. |
| Oct 7 12:00:52 | 1m 14s | Ooze for the Ooze Gods | ♥ 0 | @maxdmg any chance of a Mac or Web version? Game seems interesting and I would like to try it, but only have a Mac or web browser I can play on. |
| Oct 7 12:01:42 | 50s | UnBright | ♥ 1 | @mystrix any chance of a Mac or Web version? Game seems interesting and I would like to try it, but only have a Mac or web browser I can play on. |
| Oct 7 12:02:27 | 45s | FISHWAR | ♥ 0 | @deoclecio-filho - how do you launch the game? |
| Oct 8 08:53:00 | 20h 50m | Start With Nothing | ♥ 0 | @sloan-kelly - I gave your game a try, it's actually pretty good. I half shat myself when the lightening struck! talk about setting the mood. It seems like a nice idea, and I like the font as well. Thanks for the game :) |
| Oct 8 09:10:10 | 17m 10s | Lift Off | ♥ 0 | Hey @acedio So I tried the game but I can't figure out the controls. Give some hints in your games description would be good if you want me to give it another go. I totally understand the time consumed by doing collisions and stuff. Try Game Maker if you're looking for a smaller learning curve than Unity. I used it for a few compo entries, and found the pre-implemented stuff like collision detection, A-Start pathing etc really helpful. |
| Oct 8 09:19:59 | 9m 49s | Origamijin [Finished] | ♥ 1 | Hey @royallion, @jeejo-pallayi, @good-enough So I downloaded the source code, though if nothing else it would be worth looking and seeing what the Idea had been. I'm honestly not sure what the idea was, but from the name, and the couple of assets that I can see, it looked like maybe something where all the planets, animals etc were origami? It's a shame the game didn't make it further, but hearing what the ideas was would still be interesting. I really like the background in "BlankCreditScene.png" which looks pretty awesome for just two colour. The Sprite sheet with the Origami animals is also pretty cool. I love the look of the T-rex, the use of different shades to give them dimension works really well. It's an art style that could be a real winner. Hopefully y'all do the next jam, it would be awesome to see what you can come out with after this experience. Oh, I wanted to rate the games art but you don't have that option enabled? Well I thought the art was cool anyway. |
| Oct 8 09:21:37 | 1m 38s | Oreon: A space journey | ♥ 1 | @rainsong @jess-mess or @wietsevb If you have source code to upload it's still worth doing. If you have art or sounds or anything, it's worth uploading them and we can still give feedback. I just found another game a minute ago that didn't have a finished product, but their art is still good |
| Oct 8 09:26:38 | 5m 01s | Wit Fighter | ♥ 0 | @hsandt I love the idea, and remember starting out monkey island with similarly no insults at my disposal. It's worth keeping your voting open, and even if the game is not playable people can still look at the source for it art or sound (if there is any). Or even your list of insults and comebacks (humour) Anyway, seemed like a cool idea! solid entry for the theme. |
| Oct 8 09:32:19 | 5m 41s | Untitled Zelda Game | ♥ 1 | @pythong - looks like it would have been an interesting game to play. I like the other dead duck :) Or is that me and I'm meant to wake up from the butchers table? The transitions were not to bad on my machine, but I did vanish at one point when I walked off the screen. |
| Oct 8 09:36:19 | 4m 00s | Guinea Pig Adventure | ♥ 0 | Sounds like it would have been an interesting game, It would have really worked with the theme of starting with nothing, if you started each level with nothing again and again. I downloaded the source, and had a look at the art. it looks like a nice it would have had nice retro style art, I like that you have a really full animation set of tiles for the hamster. And it look like you tried to create your own font (which is really hard). It is readable so well done :) While I can't rate much, I think this is still a good entry for the theme and it's art. |
| Oct 8 09:38:56 | 2m 37s | Diablo But Witches | ♥ 0 | @elliottd Looks like an interesting idea. I like the death animation where the hat flips, and the animations in general are really good. If you have a source we can look at It would be interesting to take a look at what other assets you created of any interesting mechanics you built. |
| Oct 8 09:41:35 | 2m 39s | Failed Project, not so failed new experience. | ♥ 0 | @meincrab Looks like you had some nice artwork, the fox looks cool. It's worth putting your link in to the source code, and if theres assets etc that we can look at, you can at least get a grading on art and sound? |
| Oct 8 09:45:10 | 3m 35s | LooPatHero | ♥ 1 | Hey @finlal Looks like you have a lot of art work, and the artwork looks pretty good! Even though you don't have a finished and playable game, it might be worth doing a youtube video of someone running though it so we can see it in action? And failure does not mean you don't deserve a ranking, even though the game did not come together, there's still art and sound and mechanics and the idea, they are all worth getting a ranking :) Would love to see this when it's done, as it looks like a really classic RPG with great art. |
| Oct 8 09:55:45 | 10m 35s | cold4Eclipse Unfinished | ♥ 0 | Hey @stefan6435 I downloaded the src and tried to play the game - sadly the images get blocked by CORS (wierd?) Anyway from the tiny bit that I can see, it looks like you have some reasonable artwork, the smoke covered trees look pretty cool. I can see a fair bit of code was done, though I'm not sure how much of it was framework and how much of it was game. A bit of advise from a seasoned programmer, look up Game patterns and anti-patterns. And how to decouple the logic of handling an input, from the logic of capturing said input. From what I could see your keyboard capture was going to become an anti-pattern. Otherwise though, it looks like this would have been an interesting game to play. Good luck next time! |
| Oct 8 09:59:19 | 3m 34s | Great Nothing | ♥ 1 | @phoenix-gi I think you might want to put this in the unfinished category sadly. I took a (brief) look at the source and there's only 1 actual game art asset (grey mage). If you do add more to the game or think there are any interesting mechanics for people to check out, it's work pointing them out and telling us where to look. Good luck |
| Oct 8 10:01:53 | 2m 34s | The Game Journey | ♥ 1 | @nexusviper Is there any chance of a mac version or a web version? I would like to give it a try (looks interesting) but I only have a mac |
| Oct 8 11:35:21 | 1h 33m | Darkness is the nothing | ♥ 2 | maxds98 (@maxds98) , Amolker (@amolker) , Bugord (@bugord) , Gaes1k (@gaes1k) , Juli (@juli) , and Nadya Khromenkova (@nadya-khromenkova) * Any chance of a YouTube play by one of the team? I would love to see the game in action, can’t play it on my phone, but will check it out when I’m at a PC |
| Oct 16 09:21:42 | 189h 46m | Home furniture services | ♥ 0 | @birdy your game link is broken :-/ |
| Oct 16 09:41:05 | 19m 23s | Mad Mans Vengeance | ♥ 0 | @tommislav any chance of compiling this for Mac? I don't have a PC but I would like to give it a try. |
| Oct 16 09:46:41 | 5m 36s | EEPROM | ♥ 1 | @bentglasstube That's a cool game! I like. You could probably use this to teach people very basic programming. |
| Oct 16 09:47:32 | 51s | A Seed And Water | ♥ 0 | @bluepixel Any chance of a Mac version? I don't have a PC - Or maybe a Web Executable? |
| Oct 16 09:48:22 | 50s | Cellular Fun (Fixed) | ♥ 0 | @jaquboss Any chance of a Mac or Wed version? |
| Oct 16 09:53:32 | 5m 10s | Subject 11 | ♥ 0 | @evergreen-games it's a solid entry! you should really play a few more games and get your ranked a little more. I think you'll get a really good score if you get a little more exposure. I struggled to play on my QWERTY, but enjoyed it as far as I got. |
| Oct 16 09:54:38 | 1m 06s | MineDroid. | ♥ 0 | @selftitled Any chance of a Web executable or Max version? I don't have a PC but this game looks pretty awesome and I would like to give it a try. |
