So I tried the game but I can't figure out the controls. Give some hints in your games description would be good if you want me to give it another go.
I totally understand the time consumed by doing collisions and stuff. Try Game Maker if you're looking for a smaller learning curve than Unity. I used it for a few compo entries, and found the pre-implemented stuff like collision detection, A-Start pathing etc really helpful.
