| Dec 4 10:16:24 | Don't Rock the Boat! | ♥ 1 | Looks really good! I'll have a go at playing it when I get back from college! | |
| Dec 4 18:59:59 | 8h 43m | Caribou Simulator | ♥ 2 | I really liked the game! It's very charming. The music is a really really nice touch and sounds pretty awesome! At first I though I had to flipkick the blue guys, but they turned out to be my buddies (and health). It's actually a pretty challenging game, but I managed to let the caribous out into the wild (aren't they cute?!). The only really challenging part were the trucks, because you have to learn the patterns and there isn't a checkpoint in the middle of the two roads. Good job on this entry! |
| Dec 4 20:07:23 | 1h 07m | Rescue_Mission | ♥ 1 | Let me start of by saying, it's a captivating game. I started of by thinking 'oh, I got plenty of resources, this is going to take forever to drain.' But then things turned south, very very quickly. More and more passengers boarded my ship and I tried to take care of them but there were too many! Then the tragic day came... 6 people died. I didn't mean for it to happen, really! I like the simple artstyle you went with here. The UI is polished and looks great for this sort of game. As I said, this game can become a challenge very quickly, which was nice. Critiques/suggestions: I didn't understand all the attributes that the passengers could have, like what 'room attitude' meant (do they like the green rooms more?). Also, I wasn't sure if things like 'sociopath' etc mattered when placing the characters, but these details cluttered up the screen a bit. I also wasn't really sure as to why you would place people in some of the rooms. Like the engine room, or passage, just give you negative things. I thought there would be limits as to how many people fit into one room, but there weren't (maybe a suggestion for the future?). One last thing which isn't really relevant, but I think I encountered a gamebreaking bug which caused the spaceship to fly of, followed by the game crashing. I did really enjoy this game! It's good and it has potential. As I said, it might be more of a challenge when there were limits on rooms and such, but you did a very good job overall! |
| Dec 4 20:24:16 | 16m 53s | Synapse | ♥ 0 | Now, this is a fantastic little game! The puzzles really aren't too hard, but that actually makes it quite a relaxing game. You did a great job on the puzzle creation part, they feel really thought out, but also easy enough to understand and finish. The only critique I would have is the input. It's definitely not bad, but I think it would benefit from being able to also use the mouse to drag the balls up or sideways, because the arrowkeys feel like they have to be timed very well sometimes. Good job on this entry! btw, my score was 70 |
| Dec 4 20:46:15 | 21m 59s | The Grand Mewdapest Hotel | ♥ 3 | Really liked the game! It's a bit easy, if I'm honest, but I must say that cats scratching all around the room did give me stress 😄 It's funny that this is exactly the experience every cat owner has, multiplied times like 15 cats. The mechanics worked well, the graphics looked great and the sound is solid. Also, thank you for being the first christmas themed game I played, it really put me in the mood. One suggestion I might have is to maybe place furniture around the room, or decrease the room size to make it feel less empty. Anyway, good job guys, I enjoyed it! Also, +10 points for the cat puns in the end ;) |
| Dec 4 21:07:49 | 21m 34s | Rocket Jump | ♥ 1 | It's an interesting game. I've always been someone who loves rocket jumping in games, and that's why I like this game too. The mechanics are a tiny bit clunky at times, but the feeling is there. My only problem was estimating how much the extra rockets would slow me down. It's an interesting choice you give to the player, because there is usually only one right amount of rockets that you can take. I didn't manage to finish the game, because I got stuck on the first moving red bar, but I can see the potential here. Good job on the entry! btw, programmer art is encouraged here ;) |
| Dec 4 21:17:21 | 9m 32s | Petrucio, the gem stealer | ♥ 3 | I really like the main mechanic of this game! It's pretty tense to try and catch and the pickaxe and the gems. Some critique: I think either the movementspeed of the character is too high, or the basket he's holding is too small, because it's REALLY hard to accurately catch these tiny objects, and I overshot quite a few times. I also didn't really see the rocks you're suppose to avoid, because they all bunched up with the gems. This could easily be resolved with some tweaking though. I think this has potential for what it's trying to be! Very lovely graphics and crisp sounds. The throwing physics feel really good too. Good job guys! |
| Dec 4 21:28:57 | 11m 36s | Be Yourself | ♥ 1 | This game is really damn addictive! It's fast paced and I love it. The character customization, as weird as it sounds, extended the playtime for me, because I wanted to see all characters ^^. And man... does this game escalate fast. You can usually pinpoint the EXACT moment of fuck-up at which everything starts going south. It's quite a challenge and feels really good if you manage to get a huge streak of blob-blowups. One critique: the blobs coming from the side travel further than the blobs from the top and the bottom. This makes it so you have less time to react to those. I think a squared playing field might make more sense for this kind of game. Amazing job nonetheless, did I also mention that I really enjoy the graphics? Well, I do! |
| Dec 4 21:39:43 | 10m 46s | Make Ludum Dare Great Again | ♥ 3 | I really like the idea! Good job guys. Just seeing their little faces get stained by all the coffee made me crack up 😄 |
| Dec 5 08:08:41 | 10h 28m | Mistral - Wave-based Survival Retro Game | ♥ 1 | Very nice game! I had a blast playing it, but there were some things that made this game very hard right from beginning. So the first thing is: the bats move super fast and are tiny, which makes it really hard to hit them, resulting in them hitting you straight out of the map. That's actually the second thing: maybe tone down the knockback a bit for the first few levels, because it's supersmash on 300% right now ^^. I think when these things are adjust a bit it would feel very very good. The arrows feel awesome and the screenshake is really nice and crisp. Good job! |
| Dec 5 08:36:07 | 27m 26s | Snake Force | ♥ 2 | DAMN. This was one hell of a pleasant surprise! let's start of by saying: everything is SO cute. The models, the animations, everything! I love the graphics, they are simplistic, yet great. You also applied post-processing effects very thoughtfully, which complimented everything nicely. The gameplay was solid, and definitely hard at times: but that's the challenge. You implemented the theme very well and I finally found out the perfect way to kill all enemies without killing my own by strafing linearly to the enemies and shooting at the same time. It's quite refreshing to see a third person shooter where you actually have to watch out for your main characters, instead of only the enemies. The only thing I could say it: keep working on it, make some fancy models for the levels and add music plus sounds. As someone else put it: "I can't believe you did all this in 48 hours!" |
| Dec 6 04:47:37 | 20h 11m | Feed Them | ♥ 2 | I really like the artstyle and game-idea! It reminds me a bit of a non-hostile version of super smash bro's. The goal is the game is to throw food to others and be the one with the least amount of food left in the end of the round. I think this game could actually play pretty well in actual multiplayer, but the AI seems to be going a good job so far! Only game-breaking thing is: you can win very easily by jumping up high and throwing all your food down in the last second before the countdown timer ends. This is kind of a shame. Maybe a random timer that is invisible would be better so player couldn't prepare and thus that tactic would be way harder? Anyway, good job guys!! |
| Dec 6 04:57:59 | 10m 22s | Temple Hunt | ♥ 1 | Hey there, good job on finishing a game! I think the movement mechanics are mosty solid and feel good. The only problem with that is that the character collision is still a bit wonky (did you make use of a capsule collider?), because sometimes you miss a jump but still survive because the character sticks to a wall just above the spikes 😉 I heard you fixed the brightness and it was very nice play now, very difficult too! I think you did a great job on the models and textures and can't wait until you use these assets in a more realistic scene. Good job on making the game! |
| Dec 6 05:05:13 | 7m 14s | Tyranicus – more power | ♥ 0 | Hey there! I tried to play your game, but didn't know what the controls were so I couldn't play. Could you maybe write the controls down here? Thanks! |
| Dec 6 05:18:29 | 13m 16s | Defender Against the SuperBosses | ♥ 1 | Hey there! Congrats on finishing this game man! I liked it because it was so simpel and because it reminded me of a old game I once made! The shooting feels solid, the little dying animations just help to bring the minimalist graphics to life in my opinion. A few suggestions: I think in the beginning (before whole rooms are filled with cubes), the cubes should fire rush enemies more quickly, because the almost-empty rooms are a bit too easy now. I also think you could work a bit more on the navigation and following system, because right now sometimes enemies just lose interest after a few meters, so I could just easily shoot them down. I must say, it was super tense and got really hard in the end, which is a good thing. I didn't defeat the super boss (I don't think ayone's suppose to, seeing as he's one hell of a badass). I really liked the screenshake he created as well. Terrifying. Good job! |
