Aug 1 12:24:50 Cat Herder - THE CATPOCALYPSE ♥ 1 Great effort, especially if that's the first thing you've made after tutorials. Things it would be great to have: • A shorter timer. The game overall felt quite long. Does it ramp difficulty based on time? In the last 10 seconds pretty much all my cats left the house! • A 'game over here is your score' screen. At the moment the music just stops but the game carries on. • Collision with the house. At the moment I can just walk through. Great to see you using GameMaker. Good choice!
Aug 1 20:57:57 8h 33m Don't Let the Light Go Out ♥ 1 Really nice work. Great screen effects and with the text (wish I knew how to do that!). I felt the difficulty spiked at a point. It seemed I became overrun all of a sudden.
Aug 1 21:17:19 19m 22s Action Power Robot ♥ 0 Nice job. I found the fact I couldn't move in a diagonal really limiting. I get that that creates the main difficulty of completing the levels, but at the same time not being able to do it felt at odds with the robot.
Aug 5 10:17:47 85h 00m Tree Trouble ♥ 0 Good job. I found it a bit strange how my character didn't rotate while moving around. Also having some-sort of score at the end would be good for re-playability.
Aug 5 10:25:19 7m 32s POWER PLAYER ♥ 0 Took me a while to understand how to control things, but I really like the premise of a 'game within a game'. A nice simple idea.
Aug 5 10:41:35 16m 16s Running Out of Power ♥ 1 Nice idea of the idle clicker. Usually though with these sort of games you have an automatic income ticking over which you then can speed up by clicks. That way you always have that feeling of gaining. Took me a while to understand what the controls were; adding a 'how to play' to your submission page would definitely help!
Aug 5 10:52:19 10m 44s Low power mode ♥ 0 Really nice idea of messing around with the power levels of the robot. I really like the impact it has on the visuals and audio of the game.
Aug 5 13:43:17 2h 50m Head of State ♥ 0 I like the idea of a world leader simulator (not at all inspired by current events I'd wager) but I'd agree with @edmond00 about not knowing what to do. I signed the healthcare bill but after that I had no clue as to what I should do. Apparently Martin Gavell just stood there not talking. Classic Gavell.
Aug 5 13:51:25 8m 08s Bathroom ♥ 1 Congratulations on completing your first LD game! An awesome achievement in it's own right. I enjoyed how you interpreted the theme. Wouldn't have been something I'd have thought of!
Aug 5 14:01:45 10m 20s Cryo Caper ♥ 0 Love the premise, and very much in that FTL line of atmosphere. I found it impossible to really know what the best course of action was to mitigate threats. I ended up disabling the weapons and sensors altogether but leaving the shields up which suggested I would have enough power to get to the destination.
Aug 5 14:07:21 5m 36s Bad King Simulator ♥ 0 You interpretation of the theme is solid, but I didn't really know what I was doing in the game. Explaining what the different options are even just on the submission page would help a lot!
Aug 5 14:15:17 7m 56s Scared in the dark ♥ 0 The game worked for me! I like your colour palette on the switches. I wasn't sure what the number on the screen represented. It kept going up and down but didn't seem to be connected to anything. Also some of the switches seemed to be non-responsive at times.
Aug 5 14:19:51 4m 34s Ducky Descent ♥ 0 I went so far down that I lost the sun and it turned green. I didn't see any parachutes or collectables along the way. ;(
Aug 5 14:29:03 9m 12s Back home ♥ 0 I love this idea. You've made a puzzle game where you have to work out the best route to home and I think that's a really neat use of the theme. I couldn't work out the solution to the 5th level however. I thought I had jumped straight to the 'home' planet but the level didn't seem to end. I really like this. It's a very simple to play game and I can see how you could expand this further to make the levels more challenging. Well done!
Aug 5 15:03:13 34m 10s In Charge of Power ♥ 0 I've always been a fan of Sim City like games so you get bonus points from me! Love the music as well, and gave the game multiple attempts. It seems to get really hard when you have 20 or so citizens.
Aug 5 19:29:09 4h 25m MagneCube ♥ 1 This game is very difficult, but it was that which had me replaying levels again and again trying to complete them. I like how you've taken the theme and merged it into a platformer although jumping really doesn't feel like a jump, more of a jetpack like mechanic? You should change the colour of the 'low power' state as it becomes impossible to see the playable avatar against the background.
Aug 5 19:37:30 8m 21s Electron Busters ♥ 0 Congratulations on completing your first Ludum Dare! I'm having similar problems playing as mentioned above though. I worked out that pressing 1,2,3 seems to change something in the bottom right corner but I have no idea how I'm supposed to interact with the electrons as they move. Also, how am I supposed to know if they are good or bad? A write up of 'how to play' on your submissions page would help a lot!
Aug 5 19:51:43 14m 13s Rune Space ♥ 0 There was shooting?! Please please please always write a 'how to play' part on the submission page otherwise no-one will know how to play your game properly. I really like the visual simplicity of the ship and asteroids. I know how much time it can take to get audio assets and then plug them all in but it would help lift the game a lot. Hope you enjoyed making it!
Aug 5 20:01:05 9m 22s Ether Storm ♥ 0 I'm not sure what's going on in the game I'm afraid. My ship seems to move in strange directions then the whole game will stutter quite badly on my PC. Also, it seems to restart but I'm not sure why. Is there a 'ship health' or some other value that determines the game restarting?
Aug 5 21:13:16 1h 12m Spirits of Light ♥ 0 W doesn't work for me at all which makes movement impossible. :(
Aug 5 21:31:35 18m 19s The safe zone ♥ 1 It was quite satisfying rounding up a horde of zombies to then pull against the electric fence. Would have loved to have a bit of audio in there!
Aug 5 21:35:56 4m 21s Junk Drawer ♥ 1 I love how you interpreted the theme for this and I don't feel at all guilty that I've just opened this exact drawer in the kitchen in an attempt to replace the batteries in the TV remote...
Aug 5 21:44:09 8m 13s Torch Boy ♥ 1 I'm getting a 403 error on the HTML5 version. Downloaded and played but couldn't get past the first level! Love the premise though. Very nicely executed.
Aug 6 11:25:48 13h 41m UberPower ♥ 0 I like the fact you were going for a Crazy Taxi approach to the idea, that's a really good interpretation. The acceleration of the vehicle feels really slow, and also when I hit something I spin a lot more than I expected. Also I'm pretty sure I delivered some pizza but didn't get any money for it. Harsh!
Aug 6 11:27:18 1m 30s The Screen ♥ 1 I don't get a 403 error, but I just get a black screen.
Aug 6 11:57:18 30m 00s The Last Frontier ♥ 0 Shame you only got 15 hours during the jam! My main sticking points were: - I couldn't see the bullets I was firing at all. Took me a while to realise shooting was actually helping. - I got a message saying 'go to the turret on the left' but nothing seemed to happen. The level opened up going right though so I went there instead. - I got caught jumping quite a bit where my character would stick against the side of something. Good job getting the start of an idea down though! Would be awesome to see you continue developing it.
Aug 6 12:08:36 11m 18s No Sign Of Life ♥ 1 Loving the sci-fi mystery story a lot! It came across as very atmospheric with excellent mood throughout. The ambient soundtrack really helps add to the experience. Well done!
