| Apr 23 11:28:00 | Bugs Planet | Innovation: 3/5 - Not a rip-off, but not really new ideas.
Fun: 4/5 - Strangely satisfying to eliminate an entire race. Perhaps I should seek help.
Theme: 3/5 - Sure, the world is tiny, but this is more "Tiny" than "World".
Graphics: 3/5 - They get the job done, and are clear and concise. Not pretty, though, with more time it could have been polished.
Audio: N/A - On a machine without audio, so will not rate.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, therefore not rating.
Mood: 2/5 - The robotic movement is vaguely immersion-breaking. | |
| Apr 23 11:40:00 | 12m 00s | Volo | Innovation: 3/5 - Not a rip-off, but not really new ideas.
Fun: 3/5 - It's a fun little concept but it gets old really quickly, I suspect from the lack of communication. Positive reinforcement ("You win!" when an exit is reached for example) or score-tracking (how many levels without dying?) would give more reason to play for more than a couple minutes.
Theme: 3/5 - It's a tiny world with tiny things. Not really feeling the "world" aspect, but it works.
Graphics: 3/5 - They're pretty in a minimalist way. Unfortunately, because they're so tiny (ha) it was hard to tell what things were at first. Very functional, however.
Audio: N/A - On a machine without audio, so will not rate.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, therefore not rating.
Mood: 4/5 - The graphics come together quite well in this regard, especially the contrast between the dark play area and the bright window (and bird). |
| Apr 23 12:02:00 | 22m 00s | A Super Mario Summary | Innovation: 4/5 - Obviously it's borrowing from Mario, but the level design is quite nice.
Fun: 3/5 - It lacks the punch of the original Mario Brothers because it doesn't tell me the score at the end of the level. It feels less incentivized to get the max score that way. Also, adding a time component (getting a better score the faster it's done) might add to the fun.
Theme: 4/5 - Very clever take on the theme.
Graphics: 5/5 - I looked for something to complain about, I really did.
Audio: N/A - On a machine without audio, so will not rate.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, therefore not rating.
Mood: 4/5 - It benefits from having an established mood from Mario, but it works. |
| Apr 23 12:49:00 | 47m 00s | 6 Degrees of Sabotage | Innovation: 5/5 - Extremely clever! I love this.
Fun: 3/5 - It was quite fun while it lasted - I was almost tempted to pull out a pad and take notes! - but it doesn't have much replay value.
Theme: 3/5 - I presume the connection to the theme is "It's a small world after all" but it's not communicated well enough. Certainly a clever take, though.
Graphics: 4/5 - Pretty, and functional. The game relies heavily on visual differentiation between targets, sometimes unsuccessfully.
Audio: N/A - Not on a computer with audio, so not rating.
Humor: N/A - Did not see any attempts at humor, so not rating.
Mood: 4/5 - A rather profound noir mood. Works well. |
| Apr 23 13:01:00 | 12m 00s | Astronautics | Innovation: 4/5 - Can't say I've seen this type of game before.
Fun: 3/5 - It took me far too long to realize I'm supposed to go to the planets, not avoid crashing into them! That might just be my fault though. Replay value is lacking.
Theme: 3/5 - There are worlds, and they are tiny. Not really integral to gameplay in any way, though.
Graphics: 4/5 - Pretty and functional.
Audio: N/A - Not on a computer with audio, so not rating.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, so not rating.
Mood: 2/5 - There's not enough elements to string together a consistent mood. |
| Apr 23 15:28:00 | 2h 27m | Ant, Bee, Cow, Pig and Spider BOSS | Innovation: 3/5 - Nothing spectacularly new, but nothing too derivative either.
Fun: 2/5 - Loses a lot of fun because the mechanics are not intuitive, and experimentation is discouraged (you can't win if you waste even a single rock, for example)
Theme: 4/5 - Eh, fits the theme, but it's not clever about it.
Graphics: 2/5 - Not pretty, but mostly I can tell what they are. Except that pink thing - I'm guessing it was a pig?
Audio: N/A - Not on a machine with audio, so not rating.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, so not rating.
Mood: 3/5 - Cheerful, but nondescript. |
| Apr 23 15:46:00 | 18m 00s | Dave is in a Fish Tank | I couldn't figure out how to beat this one, so I don't feel comfortable rating it yet. I'll be back! |
| Apr 23 16:01:00 | 15m 00s | Minisk, You Will | Woo-hoo! I beat it! Towers are OP.
Innovation: 3/5 - Not particularly new, but not a copycat.
Fun: 4/5 - I was surprised by how enjoyable it was.
Theme: 3/5 - A literal tiny world.
Graphics: 4/5 - Pretty, and functional. No complaints.
Audio: N/A - Not on a computer with sound, so no rating.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, so not rating.
Mood: 3/5 - Very lonely. |
| Apr 24 12:06:00 | 20h 05m | Tiny Maze Speedrun | Reminds me a lot of this previous LD entry! http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-21/?action=preview&uid=4902

Don't take that the wrong way, I loved that one. And this one, too. I do enjoy a good maze game. Your mazes are harder to solve, too. Unfortunately, I must mark you down on theme, as it's a stretch at best. |
| Apr 24 15:49:00 | 3h 43m | Don't Mess with the Gnomes! | Innovation: 4/5 - I haven't seen the concept of platform control done this way, but it's still a platformer.
Fun: 3/5 - You need checkpoints! I don't want to have to do something I already figured out again. Other suggestions: Communicate functionality better. Perhaps have the gnome complain about things? "Aw no, I got to click this platform again..."
Theme: 3/5 - Tiny things in their world. More to do with appearance than gameplay, although that's the same for my game, so no hard feelings there.
Graphics: 3/5 - A little funky in places, but everything is functional and I can tell what everything is.
Audio: N/A - Not on a computer with sound, so not rating.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, so not rating.
Mood: N/A - I'm just going to leave this at N/A for games that aren't story-focused now.

Side-note: Got stuck on level 4, I think I pressed the first button at the wrong time? Couldn't jump to the platform anymore. |
| Apr 24 15:50:00 | 1m 00s | The Office | Hrm, registering an account is a big barrier of effort. But I'm a cool person so I will do it. Here I go. |
| Apr 25 15:13:00 | 23h 23m | MyLittleWorld | Apparently my computer doesn't support hardware acceleration? Huh. Looked promising, oh well :( Silverlight is a really restricting platform target. |
| Apr 25 15:30:00 | 17m 00s | My Tiny Town | My favorite part about this was the tutorial! It's a perfectly done tut. Teaches everything clearly and concisely. Thumbs-up. (my entry is in sore need of such a tut) Also, I wish I had done something like this, it's so potentially addictive. |
| Apr 25 15:59:00 | 29m 00s | ! | I got stuck, I think. Definitely promising. As others have said, the closed rooms being dark thing is nice. |
| Apr 26 11:36:00 | 19h 37m | Synthesis | Damn you, when I finished with your game I realized I had learned something! How could you?!

Very well done on making something educational while still fun. A little polish and I wouldn't mind showing this to chemistry classes. |
| Apr 26 12:03:00 | 27m 00s | A Week in the life of... | I didn't actually have any trouble with the presentation of the data! The navigation got a little tedious after a little, but it wasn't confusing and everything seemed to work. My main problem with this was the message I felt the plot conveyed about relationships at home, although the plot was well written and engaging (if not relatable for me, not being female, a mother, or married)

Very good use of the theme. |
| Apr 26 17:02:00 | 4h 59m | Chromatic Breeding | This actually seemed a little too easy. By killing all the non-target or non-similar colors, I won every time I tried for three rounds. |
| Apr 27 11:34:00 | 18h 32m | Don't mess with magical cube | Link appears to be broken. |
| Apr 27 11:44:00 | 10m 00s | Star Drill | Got to the core! The key to it is to use the purple blocks to protect you, because they block lava. It's completely not cost-effective for the risk, though. Better to keep going to new planets, got 60 that way. Normally I don't like the entries that take tiny world literally, but in this case, I'll make an exception. 5 for innovation, well done! |
| Apr 27 11:49:00 | 5m 00s | Tiny World: The Musical: The Game | Commenting here so that this will be in my rated games so that I can come back to rate when I have sound. Looks very promising! |
| Apr 27 11:58:00 | 9m 00s | Narrow | Since I can only do web games for now, and because the web version doesn't work, I can't rate this currently. I'm commenting here so that this shows up in my rated games section so that I can come back later and play when I can do downloads. |
| Apr 27 12:00:00 | 2m 00s | ResourceCollector | Since I can only do web games for now, and because this doesn't have web version, I can't rate this currently. I'm commenting here so that this shows up in my rated games section so that I can come back later and play when I can do downloads. |
| Apr 27 12:01:00 | 1m 00s | Cleansing of the tiny worlds | Since I can only do web games for now, and because this doesn't have web version, I can't rate this currently. I'm commenting here so that this shows up in my rated games section so that I can come back later and play when I can do downloads. |
| Apr 30 11:38:00 | 71h 37m | Planet Protector | Suffers from simply becoming impossible, rather than difficult. Promising, if more time is put into it. |
| Apr 30 11:48:00 | 10m 00s | World Panic! | Poor theme fit, and not particularly innovative, but really quite fun. |
| Apr 30 12:00:00 | 12m 00s | Glue Galaxy Rescue! | Don't really have anything to add other than what was already said, but I wanted to let you know I played this. |
| May 1 00:49:00 | 12h 49m | Project Peace | Far, far, more story than game. I've been guilty of that myself, though. |
| May 4 12:01:00 | 83h 12m | Faelanx | Very good! Some feedback as I went through it:
It wasn't immediately clear that click is how you attacked, since all the other controls except that one were shown to me. Still mostly my fault.

I'd like it if a blink wouldn't move you anywhere, using it didn't put it off cooldown. (that's a really awkward sentence)

Biggest problem I see as far as fun is: this game is difficult for the wrong reasons. The very, very small amounts of healing given means that you'll eventually lose just by wearing down, rather than a "fun" death. Increase healing and increase damage, methinks. Give it more "extremes" if that makes sense.

Finally, an in-game explanation of what the stats do would be good. |
| May 4 12:04:00 | 3m 00s | Flea Game | Quite enjoyed the stats crawler. |
| May 11 11:54:00 | 167h 50m | Dr. Nano - tiny surgeon | Most of the complaints I have are just problems with shmups in general, so I won't hold them against you. That said, I felt there was some incongruity between the fancy particles and the cartoonish characters. Needs a more distinct visual style! |
| May 11 12:01:00 | 7m 00s | Dude, where's my planet | Very pretty, but lack of checkpoints made it quickly tedious. |
