Man, the sound was the best part of the game...
For the record, I got no sound running on Chromium on Arch or Ubuntu
1) What's wrong with cursing and sex?
2) How is this about cursing?
3) How is this about sex? I can see how one could argue for the former, but I really don't remember putting in anything about sex.
4) You said a bad word!
5) Well, that's just your opinion, man.
@SonnyBone: That's the first sensible thing I've heard all day
@everyone else: The game actually started off as a model of the spread of infectious disease in an isolated community, but I had to drop that entire aspect because holy balls, I made that son of a bitch in 12 hours.
Infectious disease being represented by the metaphor of cunts acting like cunts
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I have plenty of ideas for new levels and mechanical twists, so I'm eager to continue work.
Tourgen: We had a zoom out feature that allowed for more meaningful choices in the last two levels, but we dropped it because it completely fucked up the parallax. If it were up to me, we would have dropped parallaxing instead, but I'm just one voice.
Tiled
Should be called "Starwin"
Somni (somnus) is Latin. Phobia is derived from the Greek phobos (φόβος) is Greek. Fear of sleep should be hypnophobia (ὕπνος + φόβος)
Beautiful sound and vision
MediaFire adds an extraneous layer of bullshit between me and the game.
The sounds are pretty sweet, especially the music that plays during the colour changing sequence. More importantly, it plays fairly well.
I really enjoyed this. The controls were a little off, but the overall experience was strong enough to compensate.
A++ would play again
Josh: I don't think it can handle non-ASCII characters. I tried a few words in Ancient Greek, and it acted the same way
Thanks for the feedback. I am working on a post-jam version with improved controls
