LD55 — Summoning

It's a fun game though the lack of music and programmer art means I should probably judge it for its mechanics. I played it with a mouse on a PC and the gestures weren't detected properly. However, given more time, that could easily be fixed. Some ways forward could be to "unlock" more spells as the game progresses so that the player is not overwhlemed in the beginning but the gameplay can be varied. Also, assigning each "rune" a mental property (like v for fire), explaining that to the player and then using them in combinations that make sense: v (fire) + i (wind) + v = fireball would really aid in remembering the spells more.

Overall, great job!

I freakin' hate the goats!!!

Amazing name, Belzosbus definitely looks familiar though I cannot place my finger on it ;) Loved the humour in this one, from the annoying chicken moving, to the remixed Nokia tune playing every now and then. It was a plesant experience. The art style was amazing as well!

Mechanics-wise however, there wasn't much new and I cannot think of a good way to fix that. Perhaps more gameplay after the summoning is done, or the summoning being more of a puzzle might help? Or being able to "loan" some tools with your measly wages to be help in the next run...

It probably took serious bowling balls to go for 3D in a jam. The result looks good! The music selection is good and so is the plot of the game. Although it's the gameplay itself is funny, it is lacking in content. I guess that's the price of the extra dimension (pun intended). Though given time, you can easily scale this up to include more activities and even get some reaction out of the guy who summoned you into this home

Zodiac Legends by Brennan 2024-04-16T19:34:27Z

I like the art style a lot as well as the music. Really gets me in the mood. The gameplay is a bit lacking though, as from what I can tell, the optimal strategy seems to be to always play the highest card that you have. The Zodiacs are nice to change up the gameplay but they don't doenoguh to alleviate this issue.
