Shifting shapes - good call! One suggestion I might make is to have a variety of shapes ('tetrik cubes?'); maybe that's already your next step. I'll have to put a warning label on this: "potentially addictive game" :)
I can't really add to anything people have said - fun, tidy and intuitive!
Unfortunately the ram usage seemed to keep increasing until it crashed.
I like the characters! Not a bad idea, although it didn't feel like the map was shifting. Having said that, it would be pretty hard to animate something like that within the time limit. Great effort on your first LD!
Great game! I thought I had it sorted when the steak was cooked to perfection - but then I discovered that there is an endless supply of steak to cook..
I'm not sure how shapeshifting fits in (steaks being caramelized?), but still great nevertheless.
This is a game I'd compare with Super Hexagon (though maybe less vomit-inducing). Pretty good job on everything, especially considering you started late!
I didn't know such a well-polished could be made in so short a time! As well done as many aspects are, the ridiculous basis of the whole thing is what makes it brilliant.
(I approve of the 'tutorial' level)
Great concept, and well implemented! There are a couple of things which are frustrating:
- If you hit a wall twice in a row without time to move
- When you change form and it hits a wall because you can't see which orientation it'll come as.
Also good job on the level design
