LD42 — Running out of space

Farmageddon by Karai17 2018-08-17T16:50:03Z

Wow this was really good! I played this like 2 hours or maybe more, it looks really polished, and the idea is good, I did find the UI flicker and some sound issues, but nothing big...

From here on I leave feedback, this are not things I based my rating on, just things I would have found NICE.

Regarding UI the marker at the bottom was kinda hard to get used to, like I totally didn't know what tool I had selected until I looked down or used it by mistake.

The plants lacked a timer or something cause I totally didn't knew when I was able to collect them, would have been really helpful to know.

You probably ran out of time to make more types of crops assets, totally fine though, not a big deal Same with sound, it became oddly repetitive after 2 hours haha but again for 72 hours and only 2 people this is incredible, congrats! I hope you continue the streak of cool Jam games

Lord Jebus, the effect when you do a tetris is really amazing... and the minimalistic look is pretty cool... I also thought tetris fit this theme perfectly, it's a really good game to make even if it doesn't fill "innovative" it's quite complicated to program

The background sounds are nice, I would have loved to tweak the sound of the drops so that I could just hear the background keyboard noise... maybe my tastes are weird? haha

The motivational quotes give a nice twist... not sure if they are funny or just nice hahaha

Dealing with LIFE by klausklapper 2019-05-05T19:51:14Z

Really nice game! You nailed the table aesthetic and the cards are really funny, the music was good though I'd pick a darker one to make it more dramatic haha

I have no feedback to give you, other than it being a little unbalanced (since you can always just attack the core, and you can just play cards and win without doing anything)

But the mechanics, the artstyle, the music, the humor are all great, congrats!

This is a really nice game! I really enjoyed the mechanic and it was pretty good game overall, the balance was spot on! And the AI is clever enough haha

My suggestions on how to improve this game (you can ignore this if you want): - Make the cards distinct enough, by using different colors for monster and spells (you can use the text of the card but it needs to be more prominent) - Zoom in on the cards on hover, it does not only look cool, but will help with reading the text on the card - Highlight the available spots to put your cards on, in the spawn face the spawn area, on the main phase, you targets (in case there are monsters the monster, otherwise the enemy player) - Make the points clearer, right now it's a small text in a small area, it could be bigger and somewhere more visible, I do like that it's a part of your card, but reading it is kinda hard

These would help understanding the game much better!

I think it has a lot of potential, you can even go and steal ideas from other video games based on TCGs haha

All the stuff you managed to get done in this Jam, alone, is incredible, keep it up!

The Quest For Money by artisticlygamesco 2019-05-05T14:35:48Z

I played this game and it's identical to BlackThornProd tutorial, you even stole the assets, and slightly changed the colors... that's not in the spirit of LudumDare, you should try to make stuff yourself.

Even if you can't do everything, try teaming up or just opt-out from the categories you didn't work on
