Hey, don't be too hard on yourself for not reaching the level of completion you were looking for. What you have looks great! And you have enough built that it's easy to get a sense of how the game plays and works. You've got some really lovely art, music and atmosphere going on here, and the game concept is actually kind of cool. You've accomplished a lot in the time you had, especially if you're just a one-person team!

Super Kaiju Dunk City by emarcotte 2017-05-03T04:05:51Z ♥ 4

I'm with @flaterectomy on the weak link to the theme, but this game is SO GOOD. I was a huge DDR/Step Mania/Whatever fan in my teens, and this gave me ALL the rhythm game nostalgia adrenaline. Phenominal gameplay, art and music. You all should be proud of what you made here. 10/10, would dunk again.

Cute little piece of functionality you got going on there with the world shrinking each time! If you wanted to expand on this post-jam, I think a way to make it feel a little more game-like would be to start small and get bigger each time, with a time limit on how long you can take to touch all the crystals for each round. It'll put the pressure on.

Once the world got pretty small, I was sort of just flailing at the movement buttons, since the crystals were visually on top of each other, and I knocked myself out of the world. Whoops!

Tiny Planet Wars by snoozemonster 2017-05-03T03:15:34Z ♥ 1

Yay, another game with a protector on a tiny planet! :D My team's game has a protector on a tiny planet, too, so it's been fun to see other games' take on the idea. Tiny Planet Wars has nice gameplay and the controls feel pretty good! The camera movement being tied somewhat to the cursor position is a nice touch! I felt like the difficulty escalation was pretty good, too; some of the other games I've played went from zero to nightmare in nothing flat, which was a little discouraging. I'm not so good at the game (my top score was 270), but I had fun! (And that's what counts, right?)

The cute art doesn't hurt, either!

Nice game, you two! Lots of old school vibe here, which I dig. Asteroids-esque gameplay, Scorched Earth style destruction of the planet, the Monkey Island style clouds in the background... Loving it! My only complaints are that the break is a pretty sudden stop, and the speed of the spaceship got out of control pretty quickly for me when using thrust. But those things are pretty minor, and I really enjoyed the game overall!

Nice! Cool to see another team had the idea of a protector standing on a small planet. I feel like y'all's game plays a lot better than my team's, though! I really like the gameplay! I think my only complaint is that there's no gradual ramp up of difficulty; it just goes from "zero" to "everything from everywhere" rather suddenly. I kinda suck, so I don't get to play for very long, haha! :D

Nice little game! The short tutorial and the radial menu make it really easy to figure out how to play. You've got a really nice visual aesthetic going, too. I'm not sure why @shodanon above wasn't getting the climate fighting effect from the trees - it was working for me. I like how the trees fought the change over time, rather than immediately, as that's more realistic than if the trees fixed things instantaneously.

I do agree with @shodanon in that the music had me a bit on-edge after a while. It's possible you may be better off with ambient sounds. Maybe birds twittering and soft gusts of wind when you're doing well, and the chug of industry and coughing when you aren't. Only other suggestion is I would make it so that once you have the radial menu up, your cursor doesn't put an "active" border around a new spot until you've dismissed the radial menu. At first I was a little worried that the structure I chose would end up in the wrong spot if my mouse hovered over a different spot during structure selection.

Hey, neat game! The concept is pretty unique from everything else I've seen so far. I never would have thought to use a process-of-elimination logic puzzle as a game idea! It would be really cool to see an expansion of this where you get into more detailed visual traits, like thin/average/heavy, glasses or no glasses, etc. But definitely nice work for just 48 hours!

Okay, so, full disclosure: I love penguins. That may make me a little biased towards this game :)

This game is super cute and fun! I love that the concept itself is pretty simple, but still makes for entertaining gameplay. Lots of folks try to make super complex stuff for Ludum Dare games, but honestly, it's the simpler games like this that really do it for me!

Wake Up ! by GoZz 2017-04-25T15:13:00Z ♥ 1

The art in this is gorgeous! Many props to your artist. I really like the game concept too... Kind of has a mixture of Limbo and an escape room going on. I also appreciate that the game mechanics and how you present them makes it easy to figure out what you're supposed to do.

I had a problem where I could not put down the wooden crate after picking it up, which prevented me from advancing any further, but I really enjoyed playing what I could :)
